I wrote to prestons march in hopes of receiving a adaptive bicycle for my 10 year old son. They tried contacting me for a year until i discovered a email from Nina stating that my son was chosen to receive a bike. I was sickened to think i had blown his chance at this wonderful opportunity for independence. After panicky emails and phone calls they said they would still get him fitted for a special bike. I cant thank them enough for this dream come true.
Carsen loves her bike. She has had her bike for about a year now and asks every weekend, with out fail, if she can ride her bike around the block. Carsen has limited mobility, coordination and is wheelchair bound. If we did not have her bike, she would be unable to get exercise. Riding her bike allows her the thrill of a lifetime, all while seeing the world from a "normal" perspective, rather than one that is limited by her wheelchair. Thank You Preston's March For Energy !!!
We can not say enough! Having witnessed the magic, we never expected our own little girl would be granted a bike. But she was! And it was and continues to be amazing!
Callie is 7 and has Down syndrome. She didn't walk until 3. She really wanted to ride a bike and even made it a New Year's resolution!!!
Deb told us we should apply and it has rocked her world in such a wonderful way! Riding a bike suddenly became something she could do the first time she tried. We have been able to peel back some of the adaptations as her confidence has grown so now she can truly get on and off by herself and play with all her neighborhood friends! Universally, the kids tell her what a great bike it is!!!
To inclusion and beyond! To just having fun! With a great design, not everything has to be a struggle. Thanks Preston, Deb and Steve!! Thanks Triaid!!!
Lily has received her bike from
Preston’s March two and a half years ago. She loves to ride it, around the neighborhood, in parks, at the beach even in Central Park. If she is not in her wheelchair she is on her bike. It has given Lily mobility in a such fun way! When she is riding her bike she is like any other kid. We are so grateful for this gift to Preston’s March.
Thanks to Preston March for Energy my 5 year old son Massiah can now safely enjoy riding a bicycle. Without this organization this simple yet joyful activity wouldn't be possible safety wise due to him being dx with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, epilepsy, stage 1 kidney disease; in addition to ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder. We are extremely honored to have been chosen by Preston's March for Energy for an adaptive bike. Thank you again so much.
