Mission: PHD''s mission is to preserve the dignity of women who are pregnant or parenting a child under the age of three by providng nonjudgmetal and supportive programming that offers hope and opportunity. PHD provides professional counseling on issues such as parenting, depression, grief and loss, employment and budgeting and single mother and grandparent support groups. PHD provides many educational opportunitie including prenatal,parenting, employment,budgeting, and life skills. PHD offers two abstinence education programs to local high school students and their parents to address the issue of the prevention of teen pregnancy and the spread of STD''s.
Programs: PHD provides professional, master level, counseling, education and support services to women and their families throughout pregnancy and he first three years of a child's life, regardless of race, age, creed, economic or marital status. Counseling issues include pregnancy related crisis intervention, pregnancy support services, grief and loss due to pregnancy loss, and pre and post adoption counseling. PHD has single mom and family/grandparent, and life skills support groups. PHD provides material support to women and their children to help care for children at the earliest stages. PHD also provides Abstinence Education for teens through the Independence Highway program which guides teens to make decisions that protect their physical, emotional, and future well being. Now we're Talking! is a program that facilitates communication between parents and their children about healthy sexuality.
