Causes: Emergency Assistance, Human Services, Pregnancy Centers, Women, Women's Centers
Mission: In the beginning, our ministry was to serve women as a crisis pregnancy center, we noticed that most of our clients were simply not prepared to be a parent. We are now seeing clients who not only are unprepared for parenting, but are also locked in a cycle of poverty, dependent on outside assistance, and lacking the life skills needed for independent living. We have expanded our educational outreach beyond fetal development and pregnancy to include topics that promote self-sufficiency, self-confidence and a sense of community.
Results: We provide a survey for feedback to participants who complete a class or program. We know we are successful because the majority of the people we serve come here because their friends or family referred them. They come back to share their success stories with us because they know we care.
Target demographics: Our goal is to help reduce parental anxiety, provide parents with positive and realistic expectations, promote bonding through positive parental disciplines and encourage personal responsibility through independent living. Our ultimate goal is to equip parents – especially young or first-time parents – physically, emotionally, and spiritually for the demands of parenting in good times as well as difficult times.
