Programs: Grantmaking program: potlatch fund runs four discretionary grant cycles and in 2014 awarded the following: intertribal canoe journey grants, community building grants, native arts grants, and language preservation and education fund grants to native nonprofits and tribes from wa, or, id, mt. We also provided 2 donor advised grants to washington tribes in support of securing old growth cedar trees, and 1 grant to a native nonprofit for the social innovation award.
capacity building program:potlatch fund continued its work of delivering trainings to native and tribal communities on nonprofit management skills including: nonprofit start-up, journey to successful fundraising, financial management for nonprofits, strategic planning, and media management. Potlatch fund also worked on a major redesign of this program to deliver more comprehensive services to our grantee cohorts and brought on new staff and consultants to help us with the planning.
