Programs: Medical services: provided 14,513 units of medical, mental health and intensive outpatient substance abuse services to 1,657 patients. Patients in need of additional services could be referred to cardiology, general surgery, hematology, laboratory, nephrology, neurology, nutrition, oral health, ob/gyn. , ophthalmology, orthopedic, pharmacy, pulmonary, radiology, and urology. These services were funded by ryan white funding through hrsa directly or indirectly through fulton county and georgia department of human services, as well as samhsa directly and the united way/impact fund.
prevention services: : pihc midtown prevention services provided 6,488 hiv tests and identified 227 new hiv-positive cases; re-linked 66 previously hiv-positive persons out of care back into hiv medical care; conducted 2337 syphilis screens and found 140 positive cases; conducted 4633 gonorrhea screens and found 434 positive cases; conducted 4633 chlamydia screens and identified 599 positive cases; and conducted 227 hepatitis a screens, 227 hepatitis b screens, 279 hepatitis c screens and vaccinated 104 people against hepatitis a/b; and have started 67 individuals on prep. In addition, over 625 one-on-one one-hour risk counseling sessions were conducted, and over 120,000 free condoms were distributed to high-risk communities in metro atlanta through bars, sex clubs and free community condom dispensers. The pihc duluth prevention services provided 1,277 hiv tests and diagnosed 37 new hiv positive persons. In its prevention with positive programs 175 unduplicated persons living with hiv benefited from four different evidence based multi-session interventions designed to help prevent further transmission of the disease. The duluth prevention staff distributed 61,189 condoms. Prevention services were funded by cdc, samhsa, georgia department of human services and fulton county.
client services: provided 8,572 units of service to 814 patients. Services were provided for medical case management, non-medical case management, housing, food vouchers, meal/grocery delivery, translation, medical transportation and patient navigator activities.
