Mission: Connecting audiences with filmmakers, who are educated, enriched, informed, and maybe even transformed. We screen short and full length films, both documemtary and narratives, to help our rural community see their place in the world.
Programs: In 2016, port townsend film festival filled over 7,600 seats with film lovers, students and communitiy members. 89 films from 14 nations were shared over a three day period and 285 citizens gathered on friday afternoon at the high school for a free meet & greet with film legend karen allen (indiana jones co-star) and emerging actor andrew perez. Many directors attended the festival to answer questions following their films. Seven indoor theaters served pass holders. For the seventh year, the peter simpson free cinema offered 850 seats for festival viewing at no charge. As a special feature, it opened for a live performance featuring andrew perez for a midnight show on saturday night, also at no charge. Taylor street outdoor movie (also free) brings family friendly films each night at the festival for over 500 folks. The weather was gorgeous, as families gathered on straw bale seating to share cinema magic under the stars.
