A couple years ago, my friend asked me if I knew any place that could take in her Pom mix puppies that were living in a small, stinky outdoor kennel. I had no idea about Pom To The Rescue & the awesome work they do! A different friend recommended Rescue Paws & when I called them, they very highly recommended Pom To The Rescue. I called them & they made arrangements to meet me & pick up the pups the next evening. Lisa, was very courteous, caring & knowledgeable about Poms & rescuing. She made sure the pups were seen by a vet w/in a couple days. They were in horrible condition. They had flea anemia & hadn't been vaccinated. I know she spent a lot of her own money to vet them. Not only that, she ensures that each one is socialized & emotionally nurtured. I'm super glad that she has high standards for adoption. I'd feel horrible if those pups went to someone who didn't have the pups best interests at heart. Lisa is very well qualified to operate & manage this organization. Sincerely, Bernie Ridgeway
I lost my sweet Sassy girl in February of this year. It broke my heart. A couple of months later I decided I wanted to adopt another Pom. I searched the web and came across Pom to the Rescue. I filled out an application and was contacted by Lisa later that week. We made arrangements for me to meet "LaLa". I fell in love with her in a minute. A month later and the adoption was finalized. I've had her now for 3 months and she is part of our family. She is a very sweet, loving, and funny little girl. Without Lisa, I wouldn't have found Lala. Thank you Lisa for all the work you do for these dogs.
When I was getting ready to undergo a major surgery, I came across a senior Pom's picture & story on the Pom to the Rescue FB page. The President and founder of the organization was quick to respond to my interest in "Henry" and messaged me back quickly. We talked on the phone before she set up the home visit and brought my old man I later named "Twinkie" to me. Twinkie has thrived in my home and over the last two years, Lisa has provided dog care for me when I've taken trips out of town. I know she has many out-of-pocket expenses and I am happy to donate to PTTR whenever I can. Thank goodness for PTTR! Twinkie would surely have been euthanized as a 14 year old unneauterd male dropped off at the shelter.
It was a little more than a year ago that my girlfriend and I were looking to adopt a dog. We did not have a breed in mind, but knew we wanted to adopt a dog from a shelter or a rescue. There was an event going on near our residence called "Pups in the Park" where many non-profit organizations had booths with the dogs or cats available for adoption. We came across a number of wonderful organizations, but fell in love with one dog in particular from Pom To The Rescue.
We went to the Pom To The Rescue booth and talked with Lisa and the volunteers. A very friendly and informative group of people. We asked if we could hold one of the Pomeranians and we did. My girlfriend did not want to let her go. We put the Pomeranian back with the rescue and walked around the event some more. As we were leaving, we decided to say good bye to the Pomeranian that we fell in love with and asked about the adoption process. Lisa informed us about where to apply and the the process that comes with wanting to adopt. We understood and went home.
Adopting a pet from Pom To The Rescue is a multiple step process and we really appreciated the effort Lisa puts into finding the RIGHT home for her rescue dogs. She does so by having you fill out an application that has a short questionnaire, multiple visits to the rescue, a home inspection of sort (to ensure the home is a good fit), multiple whole day visits (where the dog is dropped off with you for a day), and then another home inspection before finally making the decision to let the person(s) adopt.
We LOVED the fact that Lisa treated the rescues like one of her own. The rescue Pomeranians were running around the house with her own Pomeranians -- all being spoiled with the same love and care.
After the multiple step process, we were selected to adopt the Pomeranian and couldn't be any more happy. This is the first time either of us has had a Pomeranian in the family, so we had a number of questions regarding recommended food, treats, grooming tips, and so forth. Lisa was more than happy to answer and demonstrate how to do these things.
We are forever grateful to Lisa and Pom To The Rescue for allowing to adopt. Our new family member has brought us so happiness. Thank you Lisa and Pom To The Rescue.
If you're looking to adopt a Pomeranian, I highly recommend adopting from Pom To The Rescue.
Several years ago I was volunteering at my local shelter and fell in love at first sight with a sweet, happy little four-year old Pomeranian. Her owners gave her to the shelter for the astoundingly selfish reason that they simply didn't want her anymore. I couldn't believe it! That's when I decided I wanted to do something to help other animals find their forever homes. I found Pom to the Rescue and after meeting the President, Lisa, began volunteering for her and regularly supporting her rescue. I have never met someone with as much integrity and passion regarding not only the animals in her care, but ALL animals as well. The welfare of the animals she rescues is her top priority.
After losing a pom after the birth of our second daughter, we were devastated. I searched the web to rescue another pom and was lucky to find Pom to the Rescue. Lisa was very diligent in making sure the pom my family was interested in was the right fit for our family. Flash forward a few months after losing our precious pom due to health reasons, I was notified by Pom to the Rescue of two owner surrender babies that we now have as members of our family. Pom to the Rescue has brought our family so much love and joy by finding the right fit for us. Pom to the Rescue comes highly recommended for dedication and passion for the right fit for her rescues.
I decided to start searching for a pommie. I found a site called Pom to the Rescue, and filled out the application. Lisa helped me find a wonderful pommie. She is very thorough putting the dogs first. They are her babies and she wants them to have the best possible home. They also get great medical care prior to adoption. And, they are also monitored for any behavioral issues. If they have problems, Lisa will work with the dog to correct the issue prior to making it available for adoption. She takes all steps necessary to ensure the adoption is a complete success. Thank you, Lisa, for bringing us a wonderful family member.

I was specifically looking for a Pomeranian. We came across this organization who got me in touch with their sister rescuer. We were introduced to Whitney - a sable pommie whose owner had died. After completing an application, and coming for a meet and greet, we were approved to adopt her. But, before we could take her home, they insisted that her medical care be completed to ensure her health and happiness. All costs were incurred by the rescue group. It was a long wait, but worth it. Whitney has brought must laughter into our home through her high energy and love. We recommend this rescue group as they have proven themselves to be ethical, genuine, and caring towards all animals, especially Pomeranians.
Several years ago I lost the little dog who was the love of my life. I was devastated. My daughter started taking me to every shelter and rescue within 50 miles. We searched online. I was not sure what I wanted, but knew I would know the right dog when I saw it. Finally, I saw a sweet little Pom face that stole my heart and I filled out an application. I spoke on the phone several times with Lisa and I went for a meet and greet with this little girl. Sadly for me, there were other applications for this little one and she chose a different family to be her forever home.
But Lisa didn’t give up on me and told me about another dog that needed a forever home, and I was introduced to Charlie. Charlie was rescued from a hoarder situation and was born blind. He was not going to be anyone’s first choice for adoption. When I met Charlie it was love at first sight. His smiling face lights up my life. He doesn’t know he is blind and sees the world with his heart. A heart of gold!
And to tell you what kind of person Lisa is, Charlie has never forgotten his “Momma Lisa”. Even after 3 years with me he runs into her arms and gives her sloppy kisses every time he sees her. He knows she is the one person who rescued him from a sad life and gave him another chance to be the happy boy he really is.
I have since rescued other dogs from Lisa and fostered others for her. She is always there to help and advise what ever the dogs need. She makes a lifetime commitment to every dog and their forever families. She is selective when placing a dog because the dogs always come first for her.
Pom to the Rescue is just the best! Save the dogs and make sure they continue to thrive is Lisa’s way to run a rescue! All rescues should take a lesson from her.
We adopted not one but 2 darling pins from Lisa and the experience both times was nothing short of miraculous! She is very dedicated and tries very hard to find just the perfect home for each of her sweet fosters!
When we lost our fur baby to old age I promised myself I would not get another dog for a while. It is so hard to lose a member of the family. I lasted 1 month and found myself checking out the Petfinder website. I knew I wanted a rescue and I had always loved the perky, fun loving poms, but had never had one before. I saw one of Lisa's Pom to the Rescue angels and knew I had to stop fighting the obvious. I was never meant to be petless. I told the family of my intentions and of course, since we are all animal lovers, they were all very excited. I completed the application and Lisa agreed to bring up a few of her fur babies for us to meet and for her to check out our home to make sure we were fit pet parents. I fell madly in love with this little bundle of bouncy fluff named "Cheyenne". We renamed him "Jaxx" and he really brings joy to everyone who meets him. Lisa really took to the time to make sure that Jaxx would be safe and happy in his new home and that we would be happy with Jaxx. In fact, we have enjoyed him so much that we decided to help her by becoming a foster home for her precious poms. We now have adopted a second pom baby named Pheobe and she and my mom are inseparable. I found Lisa to be reputable and honest and devoted to finding the right forever home for her rescues. She doesn't stop caring once you complete the adoption process, but is always available for questions or advice when you ask for it. She has a tough job but I am so glad there are people out there like her who care so much. If you are looking for a Pomeranian to adopt and would be a good home, please reach out to her. These babies need loving safe homes and in return bring so much unconditional love to your life. Thanks again Pom to the Rescue!
I saw Mimi on Pom to the Rescue's site and fell in love at first sight. Lisa made the adoption process a wonderful experience. Her foster mom, Cheryl, is also amazing. Not only does Lisa operate a rescue, but she owns and loves Pomeranians. My Mimi had a very abusive and traumatizing life before she came to me. Lisa was amazing in always making herself available to give me support and advice. I am forever grateful to Lisa for bringing me the beautiful experience of adopting Mimi. If you are looking to adopt a rescue Pim, look no further.
I adopted my dog from Pom to the Rescue. Let me tell you this is a very responsible and respectable organization. The president does do due diligence on the applications received to ensure that the dogs will not only go into loving homes but responsible ones with people who understand the emotional and financial undertaking. I felt really good knowing that she put so much effort into finding the right home for my dog.
I was looking to rescue a pom and came across this organization. After falling in love with one of the animals available for adoption, I inquired about her and was told to fill out an application first. I excitedly spent an hour filling out the application and promptly sent it in, only to not hear back from them. After several days, I decided to follow up and was rudely told that they would be 'pursuing other options' with no explanation as to why they didn't think I would be the right fit. I was devastated. They seem more intent on keeping these poms than being motivated to find them good homes. If you personally know the woman who runs this business then this might be a good option for you if you're looking for a new dog, if not then I would go elsewhere because your time will likely be wasted. My advice to this organization? Show some courtesy and professionalism when someone takes the time out to fill out an application because they'd like to offer a loving home to one of your dogs.
I adopted a Pom dog from Lisa of pomtotherescue in Roseville, CA. This poor little mite had been severely abused and neglected in his past life and the photos of his neglect were gruesome. Lisa was a great source of support throughout his adjustment period to my home, always ready to listen and provide suggestions. He has adjusted well and become such a sweet loving dog. Thanks to Lisa working with him and then assisting me to build his trust and maintain his health.
When my family and I were ready to adopt a dog, we were fortunate enough to meet Lisa from Pom to the Rescue. From the outset, it was very clear that she has a strong passion for the plight of at risk animals. We were so happy when she agreed to allow Frankie to come live with us!!! Lisa continues to provide additional support and wisdom even years after the adoption. I can’t say enough positive things about Lisa and our adoption experience.
I have worked with Lisa and she is above board very honest and professional. She is out for the best of the dogs interests. WE have adopted several dogs together and she is above reproach. As a dog rehabber she is always in the BEST interest of the dogs. SHe has saved so many dogs.. If you are looking to adopt then this is the rescue!

Working with another rescue...rescues depend on honesty and integrity.. Pom to the rescue exceeds in both. Very honest and caring. The dogs here are treated with care and respect and lots of love. Very rarely do you run across a person running a rescue that has this much level of care and compassion. Dedication to seeing that dogs under her care are never to be homeless agai. n..this rescue is certainly A-1
We were mourning the loss of our precious pom, Sophie and found Pom to the Rescue online. Lisa, was extremely cautious before allowing us to adopt Cookie, a hearing impaired rescue. We were so awed at her thoroughness checking our home and yard for safety and verifying our level of pet care with our vet., and how she "fits" each rescue with the perfect family that after 3 weeks we asked for another rescue! We could not be happier with her pre adoption care and her assistance with information any time we ask. She is one super person.
PTTR and its founder/president, Lisa, are in this for the welfare of the dogs and the dogs come first. Lisa is a wealth of knowledge about the breed; intuitive, educational and persistent toward the best solution for every dog she rescues and even every dog that she meets. Lisa rehabilitated and placed a pom that we surrendered to her when we were at out wits end and everyone else told us that this dog was helpless and needed to be euthanized. Lisa would not give up and worked tirelessly (for one full year) to rehab this little guy and place him in a loving home. We are forever grateful to Lisa and PTTR!
I was not really looking for another Pom but I seen this small little face and fell in love with him on the Pom to the Rescue page.. So I contacted Pom to the Rescue and talked with Lisa. She told me all about Bindi and his special needs and the long hours of work she given this wee little one. When others gave up on him and wanted him put to sleep, she continued helping him. (Thank God she did) We talked several times and had several Meet and Greets before Bindi came to live with us. She want to make sure all was safe for him and us and that we were the perfect match. We found Lisa to be very genuine, and caring both for the Rescue and the people that walk into there lives. And even to this day we can call her and ask for her help with anything and she will gladly help us. She is more the just a Rescue she is a Person that truly cares about the little souls that come into her life. Thank You Lisa for Bindi.
We had no intention of adopting again after the heartbreaking loss of our 17 year old family dog but when we came across Pom to the Rescue and saw Kodi's picture there, we knew we had to have him. He is the best (and cutest) dog ever! Pom was very thorough in making sure our home we be safe for him and that we give him lots of love. We feel like we are part of the Pom family now. We follow the lives of the other Poms, like Bindi - who has his own Facebook page.
Thank you for changing our lives!

Can you give me the actual name that filled out the application you are referring to? I do not have any applications in the last 24 months with this name. Thank you, Lisa
