Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Job Training, Sheltered Employment
Mission: To assist developmentally disabled people in polk county, nc and other counties of the region in becoming more productive citizens, leading a purposeful life through work experience, and providing a social adjustment program.
Programs: Polk vocational supports the community through the following activities: housing alternatives, vocational evaluation in training, work adjustment training program, job placement and job coaching assistance, adult development vocational and innovations programs, personal and social adjustment training, basic life skills training, and supported employment. Polk vocational provided daily services to approximately 40 clients, including exercise and art classes, group and individual outings for clients, lunch for all employees twice a month, and work opportunities for all clients. Please see schedule o for continuation of our accomplishments. For this fiscal year, polk vocational added three new jobs for consumers, added ltcs program, increased consumer wages by 16. 7%, increased community outings for consumers. Total revenue stram grew by 17. 2%. This allowed us to fund many additional activities for consumers and continue to improve our facility.
