Mission: Polar Bears International (PBI) is the only conservation organization whose sole passion and focus is polar bears. Consisting of a small team of conservationists, scientists, and volunteers, PBI works to secure a future for polar bears across the Arctic by collaborating on research and education projects with partners across the north. Our overarching mission is to conserve polar bears and the sea ice they depend on. Through media, science, innovation, and advocacy, we inspire people around the world to care about the Arctic, the threats to its future, and the connection between this region and our global climate.

PBI is just the best. I've had the incredible opportunity to spend several weeks with them in Canada doing educational work with Polar Bears. They are made up of the most kind, genuine people, committed to doing the work for all the right reasons. You feel so special when you are with them and you learn so much. Such an inspirational nonprofit to support. Follow their social media to learn about all the events they do throughout the year, with groups ranging from zoos to eco-tourists.

Polar Bears International is a true leader in affecting the change that we need not just to save magnificent polar bears, but also to save the planet for future generations. The incredible staff empowers and inspires all of us to do our part. As a donor I feel confident that my donations are used wisely and when added with donations from others, we too empower and inspire by giving the staff and volunteers the resources they need to make a huge difference in our world. Thank you, PBI!

I’ve been involved with Polar Bears International since 2010, first as a volunteer (both in Toronto and in Churchill) and more recently as a monthly donor. This is an organization that cares not only about the future of polar bears, but the Arctic as a whole, all of its wildlife, its people and the entire planet because PBI understands that we are all interconnected. They also value their donors – at all levels – and take the time to let us know about the impact of our support and update us on the work they accomplish because we partnered with them. In terms of both mission fulfillment and the donor/volunteer experience, PBI gets tens across the board.

I was honored and privileged to be able attend PBI’s climate alliance program where I was educated on climate change and how to talk about it to other people. That trip up to Churchill, Manitoba will forever fuel my passion to stand for a better future for wildlife and people. Their dedication to scientific research, education, and conservation really pours out to anyone that listens or reads what they have to say. Because of PBI I care a lot more about the importance of Arctic sea ice to the rest of the world.

Polar Bears International (PBI) is a very unique organization with a great mission. I have been fortunate enough to volunteer with them off and on in several capacities since 2010 as an ambassador, photography support, Teen Leadership Camp staff, Project Polar Bear judge, etc. After 9 years of giving educational presentations to schools, universities, businesses, zoos, etc I never grow tired of educating the public about polar bears and their ever-changing environment and story. I always consider it a privilege to represent PBI in doing this outreach work and am thankful for the opportunity to work alongside such an amazing organization for this critical work. Robert and Carolyn Buchanan created a special entity and Krista Wright has carried this on and expanded what they started and has done so wonderfully. I cannot commend PBI enough for what they do and how they do it!

I have been a monthly contributor to PBI since 2014 when I visited Churchill and got to see first hand the important work they are doing. Also as a interpretive volunteer at San Diego Zoo's Polar Bear Plunge, I use PBI's online resources as a critical way to stay up-to-date on polar bear issues.

I've been working with Polar Bears International for thirty years. As a photographer and storyteller, I feel they do a wonderful job using visual materials to explain the plight of the polar bear. I've worked with virtually every nonprofit dedicated to wildlife and nature and nobody is as fare and considerate as Polar Bears International. These guys are like family and Krista Wright, CEO of PBI, does a fantastic job with the money they raise. I can not think of a more worthwhile nonprofit dedicated to the world of nature and conservation.

For almost 30 years, Polar Bears International has dedicated their resources toward preserving the Arctic for long-term survival of the polar bear. The team works hard to educate the public and provides tools and ideas for how each of us can contribute to help this amazing animal roam the ice for future generations.

Polar Bears International (PBI) is a leader for arctic habitat preservation and the reduction of climate change. Through their Arctic Ambassador program, which I was a participant and partnering with other Conservation programs, like Trees for You and Me, they educate and inspire change.

Polar Bears International is the leader in anything polar bears. They also have the know-how to bring real-time polar bears and Arctic life to your classroom, home, or any device via the polar bear cam. Their webcasts from the Arctic are informative, entertaining and enlightening. Can’t imagine a more dedicated, informative and compassionate group tackling a world-wide problem of polar bear conservation.

Polar Bears International made it possible for me to become a zoologist! I was selected as a 16 year old to go to Churchill Canada for PBI's Arctic Ambassador program through my local zoo. Ever since my first experience with wild polar bears, Arctic researchers, and Inuit fur trappers I was hooked on conservation! Since then I've become a conservation leader, zookeeper, science educator, and sustainability evangelist. PBI literally changed my life and because of my experience I feel inspired to change and save wild polar bears in return.

Climate change is the single biggest threat to the future of the planet and the Arctic is experiencing change on a scale that is larger and faster than any other place on the planet. This unprecedented change will impact large ice dependent carnivores like polar bears by forcing them on land for longer periods of time without access to valuable food sources. To help mitigate those changes, Polar Bears International works with a network of scientists, educators and community members to prepare for these challenges. In addition to sharing inspiring images of the Arctic, this organization specializes in providing science-based information that is clear and current. It is important to know that my monthly gift is going to support on the ground efforts to ensure that polar bears remain a part of the Arctic now and forever.
