Causes: Disaster Aid, Fire Prevention, Safety Education, Search & Rescue Squads
Mission: The mission of the organization is threefold: improving the local fire, rescue, and emergency response services by purchasing equipment not included in the Village of Pleasant Prairie budget, enhancing Public Safety education throughout the local community, and preserving the history of the Pleasant Prairie Fire and Rescue department.
Results: In 2016, the Pleasant Prairie Fire and Rescue Association, Inc sponsored the inaugural “Prairie Safety Day” open house event for public education, continued sponsorship of a Boy Scout Fire Explorer post, raising money for the purchase Lucas 2 CPR devices, restoration of the 1935 Pirsch, purchased updated fitness equipment for Village fire stations, and funded the initial purchase of Class A uniforms for department personnel to be used for funerals and formal events.
