My cat was spayed last week, and I’m not sure why a cone was not provided. I’m a new pet owner, and still learning about carrying for my cat especially after surgery. Lots of people who are cat owners have found this odd that my cat has returned home with no cone. A week later and my cat’s wound is leaking, and infected. This is very unpleasant for my cat as well as myself. Well this experience has left me unsatisfied with the service.
When I moved here two years ago from out of state, I found a large population of breeding feral cats in my subdivision. After several frustrating phone calls, I was finally referred to Planned PEThood of Ga.. This organization is priceless! They lent me traps, gave me tips on how to use them, and worked with me on how to pay for the many feral cats I was planning to bring in for spay or neuter. When all was said and done, I had brought in about 2 dozen cats!! I can now report ALL the cats in our subdivision are now fixed and no longer adding to the overpopulation problem. Thanks, Planned PEThood! PLUS..........I have also adopted a couple of wonderful kitties from them! They always have some special kitties running around the place that are looking for permanent homes! Stop by and check them out!!!!!
Planned PEThood of GA are wonderful. I take my two dogs there for their Low-Cost Vaccine clinics every year. They helped me with a trap for a feral cat at my husband's shop and we were able to get her spayed, along with one other female and her kittens. They are all doing great.
When you use their Vaccine Clinic, your pet gets an exam from a vet. One vet pointed out a mass on my dog's hind leg and told us what to watch for.
I cannot say enough good things about them. I tell everyone I know about them for their Spay and Neuter program especially!
When no other animal welfare group was able to help, Planned Pethood of GA was willing to work out a solution, to offer resources, to provide alternatives. The community service that PPofGA gives every day goes far beyond the usual even for a spay/neuter clinic or rescue group. The incoming phone calls and counseling given, the outreach efforts, the programs, equipment, services added because the need was perceived and had to be met (and so the fundraising had to be done, and it was) - I could go on, but not enough room or time - they epitomize the term, "GREAT Nonprofit"!
I have had two pets spayed at PPOG, and both were perfect and exceeded my expectations. Having worked in a vets office before, I was simply blown away by the procedures and the extra steps to insure my babies were comfortable and in very little pain. PPOG is the ONLY organization I refer to folks either seeking a cat to adopt or needing a spay or neuter for their pets. I have also attended their low cost vaccine clinic and am very happy with those services as well. Thank you PPOG for all you do for our pets!
About a year ago I begin my foray into helping stray/feral cats in my neighborhood. PPoG was a great resource. They loaned me cages so that I could trap the kitties. The cost of spaying and neutering the feral cats is lower than anyone else in my area. By far. They foster and encourage the community to take better care of the animals in them.
Eventually I started to volunteer with them as a "guardian angel" for some cats/kittens I rescued personally. But they gave me further support and discounts and gave me tons of helpful advice.
I will keep doing what I can to help kitties in my community and to support PPoG.
Planned PEThood of GA is the greatest asset to the Atlanta area. They make things very easy and affordable for you. I have taken feral cats that have shown up at my place, and pets of my friends also. I truly wish there were more places like them. Other places claim to be low cost, but in the end, they usually have some added costs. Not so here. They really do want you to have a planned pethood! I would give it a 10.
We have two stray semi-feral cats that found their way to our home. We wanted to take care of them but didn't want to spend the money required to go to our local vet. So we took them to the vaccine clinic and were very pleased with the service. They were well organized in handling the crowd. The cats were not cooperative (to say the least!), but the staff handled them easily. And the price was excellent. We also got the microchipping so anyone else who finds the cats will be able to get their history. A big "thanks" to Planned Pethood for providing us a means to protect these babies.
We had our 1 year old Great Dane Spayed at Planned PEThood of Ga. She had no problems with her surgery. the Girls at Planned PEThood are Amazing, excellent Pre and Post operation instructions.
Our Subdivision also brought a 5 Feral Cat colony for spay and neutering. they live in the woods in our subdivision, all of them are fine. they even got us in touch with experienced feral trappers that lent us the traps.
We and several of our neighbors have been to several of their Vaccine Clinics that they hold every month.
Not only are they very professional but the place was clean and didn't smell like another low cost place that we had used in the past when we lived downtown.
If I could give them 6 stars I would
