Causes: Family Planning, Health, Reproductive Rights
Mission: The planned parenthood of central and western new york (ppcwny) action fund purposes shall be: encouraging and protecting informed individual choice regarding reproductive health care; advocating public policies which guarantee the right to choice and full and nondiscriminatory access to reproductive health care; fostering and preserving a social and political climate favorable to the exercise of reproductive choice; and engaging in all other activities, including raising funds, and any other efforts designed to promote such objectives.
Programs: In 2017, the ppcwny action fund encouraged the passage of legislation and policies that support the full range of reproductive health care. Volunteers from buffalo, syracuse and rochester areas serve as board members of the ppcwny action fund. A primary focus in 2017 was encouraging passage of the comprehensive contraception coverage act. We worked to raise the awareness of elected officials about this issue. Further, we advocated for policies that support family planning and funding; promote medically accurate, responsible sexuality.
