We’ve been working with Planet Water Foundation for four years through our organization, Ficus Perú Desarrollo Socioambiental, and it’s been a great experience. Our partnership has brought clean and safe water to 12 schools in Peru, helping thousands of children through the AquaTower project. Hola! Soy Leisel Figueres, coordinadora de proyecto de Aqua Tower en el país de Perú y parte del equipo FICUS Perú. Durante estos años, coordinando la donación de este gran proyecto, la sonrisa y satisfacción de niños con escasos recursos ha sido la mayor gratificación.
El proyecto de torres de agua potable ha alcanzado un total de 11 colegios y 1 albergue en distritos con altos niveles de vulnerabilidad socioeconómica. La experiencia que he desarrollado en este proyecto me ha permitido conocer más las realidades de territorios alejados a la ciudad de Lima, Perú y a aprender sobre ingeniería sostenible ambientalmente para escuelas con falta de acceso al agua potable.
Last year, Baguio City faced serious challenges with clean and safe water access due to urbanization and environmental degradation impacting the health and well-being of the community. To help address this challenge, GT Foundation, Inc. (GTFI) partnered with Planet Water Foundation (PWF) to install an AquaTower at Pinsao Elementary School in Baguio City last March 13, 2025.
With PWF’s expertise, the AquaTower was immediately set up smoothly and operational, benefiting 598 students and over 4,700 residents by providing access to safe drinking water and handwashing facilities.
We had a great experience working with PWF on installing an AquaTower. What made this project even more special was how they involved the students through fun, interactive, and hands-on hygiene education sessions. These helped teach the students the importance of proper handwashing and staying healthy, especially after the recent health concerns in the area.
Our volunteers from the different Metrobank Baguio City branches actively participated in the installation and hygiene education sessions. They described the experience as one of the most meaningful volunteer opportunities they have had, noting the smooth coordination with the implementers, the joy of seeing the students using the water system for the first time, and how proud they felt being part of something that brings positive change.
In 2023, we partnered with PWF to install an AquaTower at Silangang Mayao Elementary School in Lucena City, Quezon, reaching 650 students and 1,800 community members. Volunteers from Metrobank branches in Lucena City also participated in the installation and have been part of the hygiene education sessions with the students.
Both projects have shown how dedicated PWF is to address the needs of the communities by providing access to quality healthcare. PWF is committed to the community's well-being, which aligns closely with GT Foundation's mission and purpose of improving the quality of life for less privileged sectors. We're grateful for their partnership and we look forward to more collaboration opportunities.
Last March, we built an AquaTower in Baguio City. The entire activity was well-organized prior to and on the day of the activity. Planet Water Foundation (PWF) conducted an orientation session, including the volunteers from Metrobank Purple Hearts Bag-iw Chapter – from Metrobank branches in Baguio – to set clear expectations on how we would be involved in building the AquaTower. On the day of the activity, the program ran smoothly. We were warmly welcomed at Pinsao Elementary School with a song and an interpretative dance performed by the students.
Following the opening program, we proceeded with the construction of the AquaTower. Initially, I thought our role would be limited to assisting PWF staff, but the activity exceeded my expectations. The volunteers were really the people who built the AquaTower from scratch.
After completing the tower, we engaged with the students in an educational activity. We held a mini coloring session where the kids colored printed images of germs, and we took the opportunity to teach them, in a simple, engaging way, the importance of having clean and potable water. We explained how germs can cause various illnesses and emphasized the value of hygiene (e.g., washing their hands). We also played fun games after the educational activity, adding excitement to the students' learning experience.
To conclude the program, the students performed a traditional dance performance, and we were also invited to join in. It was a heartwarming and joyful moment. We ended the day by testing the water from the AquaTower we built.
This was a truly memorable experience for me. In 2024, Baguio City experienced a water crisis, and this initiative felt like a meaningful way to help the community overcome this challenge. One of the highlights of my day was when a student hugged me from behind and said, "Thank you" for the cup we gave them. That simple gesture is heartwarming, which made me realize that we did a good thing not only for the students, but for the entire community.
May Planet Water Foundation continue its mission of providing clean and safe drinking water to communities around the world and may there be more volunteers for this initiative.
I have the privilege of working with Planet Water Foundation as a third-party social media coordinator, and it has been an incredibly eye-opening experience. One of the most fulfilling parts of my role is sorting through photos from AquaTower school projects and AquaBlock disaster response initiatives. These images tell a powerful story of transformation - communities gaining access to clean water for the first time, children smiling as they taste clean water, and parents look of relief. These moments never fail to inspire me. I also get to witness the enthusiasm of PWF’s donor partners and volunteers through their social media posts - seeing them share their heartfelt experiences of helping abolish water poverty. Volunteers leave these projects with a deep sense of fulfillment, knowing they’ve made a lasting impact. Planet Water Foundation is an amazing organization that is changing countless lives by addressing one of the world’s most pressing issues. It’s an honor to play a small part in their mission to bring clean water to communities that need it most!
I had the privilege of collaborating with Planet Water to build two water treatment towers in schools in India. From the very beginning, the organization demonstrated outstanding professionalism and meticulous preparation. Everything was flawlessly organized on-site, ensuring the seamless execution of the project, while their approach highlighted their dedication and compassion toward the local community.
Beyond the primary activity of constructing the water facilities, Planet Water went the extra mile by arranging additional activities for the school children. These initiatives not only enriched their daily lives but also made them an integral part of this meaningful experience.

I was hired as a third-party photographer for Planet Water Foundation's community water filtration system projects for marginalized villages and areas hit by disasters in the Philippines, Brazil, and Morocco. These experiences gave my work a deeper purpose because I got to shoot the people's smiles as they drink and wash their hands with clean, safe water. I feel connected in making them laugh and feel comfortable to catch the genuine happiness from their faces. I may have captured their memories on my camera, but I was also captured by their joy. There is something so precious during those times that I deeply resonated with. Each photo had a soul that told a story. I am very grateful for the opportunity to share through my lens the impact that Planet Water Foundation is making in the different parts of the world.
On behalf of the team members from Xylem Inc and AV-Display and, we are very proud to have entered a sponsorship with Planet Water Foundation. In November 2024 we built and erected one of their Aqua Towers in Sa Kaeo province, Thailand. The purpose to install the Aqua Tower is to provide filtered and clean drinking water to the pupils in the Ban Nongkhihen School and to the local community.
The system is capable of supplying drinking water to 1,800 people per day, and with this system we can secure the children are avoiding drinking contaminated water.
The full day event was well planned and executed in a professional way and together with the PWF staff, teachers, and staff from the school. Besides making the full installation, we were also teaching the pupils about good hygiene and at the end of the day, we could see them enjoying the clean drinking water.
Our recommendation goes without any hesitation out to others, who are considering entering a charity program together with PWF.
We wish all the best for future PWF projects, which makes a huge impact for many people.

I've been honored to serve first hand with Planet Water. Through education and timely execution, this service before self organazation is top notch. The deployment of water projections to less served countries, homes, and familes makes Planet Water a great non profit to get behind.
Jag var med som volontär och såg till att byarna och skolorna fick rent vatten. Planet Water gjorde allt arbete för att se till att byarna och skolorna fick rent vatten och de sköter om dem. Jag tycker de gör så mycket för att se till att leverera vårt viktigaste livsmedel till människor som inte har tillgång till rent vatten. Det utbildar i hygien och ser till att barnen på vår jord får det bättre med rent vatten ren mat och slipper följdsjukdomar.
One the best CSR project which we worked together with Plannet Water Foundation yearly. By joining these projects, we not only have chance to connect to more communities needed the clean water, but also in-real seeing, puting a hand to support to solve their needed by deploying the AquaTower. In addtion, all the shared lesson and games in the education section help our partners a lot in terms of information as well as build up strong connection with communities.
I was hired by Planet Water to photograph their installation of AquaBlock water filtration systems throughout Asheville, NC, following Hurricane Helene that devastated our mountain community. It was my first introduction to the non-profit and I was incredibly impressed with their system that’s bringing safe drinking water to our city. The people I worked with at Planet Water were so kind and very knowledgeable. They worked all day over 8 days installing 8 systems. Seeing a line of people waiting to fill up at the AquaBlock once they were operating showed me just how important this non-profit was to our community.
Xylem Inc. has partnered with Planet Water for many years helping to provide and install Aqua Towers to provide safe, clean drinking water to communities who lack access to this basic human right. The Planet Water Program not only provides access to safe water but educates communities on appropriate hygiene practices, preventing ongoing health issues such as diarrhoea, cholera and hepatitis A. The provision of these Aqua Towers is life changing for these communities.
