Mission: Placer Community Foundation grows local giving to create sustainable and vibrant communities for the nearly 300,000 residents of Placer County. Whether you want to support a specific cause, create your own charitable fund, establish a scholarship, apply for a grant or learn about local giving, we can help.
Programs: Community needs. Grants provide opportunities for greater community impact in education, health and human services, animal welfare, senior programs, preserving historic landmarks and open space. Community wellness grants are awarded to support community-based projects or programs that are helping to promote overall wellness among county residents. Placer collaborative network brings together 60 nonprofit, government, faith-based, educational and municipal entities to work on collaborative solutions to issues facing children, adults and families of placer county.
youth development. Competitive grants supporting the needs of at-risk and economically disadvantaged youth in placer county are awarded. Scholarship funds are awarded to students who are pursuing further education in a vocational, college, or university setting. Grants are awarded to provide laptop computers for foster youth in placer county.
arts. Grants enhance and sustain a vibrant arts culture in placer county by increasing the visibility / accessibility of the arts and promoting sustainability of nonprofit arts organizations. Grants from the susan cooley-gilliom art program develop and enhance the visual arts through short-term residencies and workshops taught by nationally established and highly-reputable artisits who create in a range of media.
