Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Health

Mission: SUMMARY Pius Health Clinic is a not-for-profit charitable health facility. It opened on January 1, 2021 and is staffed by a medical doctor, nurse-midwife, & lab technician-nurse assistant. Pius Health Clinic Uganda Charity, Ltd. is an IRS 501(c)(3) charity that solicits donations from the public & disburses them directly to the clinic's professional staff. All funds go exclusively to operate and maintain the facility including the purchase of medicines, medical supplies & equipment, and to pay staff salaries. The clinic provides 24-hour outpatient and limited inpatient medical & health services to all members of a rural eastern Uganda community. A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTORS Greetings from Jim & Immy Rose Namutosi Lassiter in Georgia, USA! This is an invitation for you to become a supporting member of a not-for-profit, charitable village health clinic in Uganda. So far, all costs for establishing and running the clinic have been paid by us and a few friends. We need your help to keep the clinic open and growing. This is an appeal for your kind financial assistance. Pius Health Clinic began as a request from Immy Rose’s late father, Mr. Lawrence Kiondo. Mr. Kiondo, near the end of his life, asked his children to build a health care facility at his rural residence in his homeland BuMasaaba, in eastern Uganda. Located in East Africa, Uganda is on the Equator. Immy Rose’s homeland, BuMasaaba, is in the far east of Uganda on the Uganda-Kenya border. Currently Uganda is home to over 45 million people. There are over forty ethnic groups the largest of which is the Baganda. Immy Rose’s group the BaMasaaba comprise slightly less than five percent of the total population. Pius Health Clinic is located in one of the most densely populated rural areas of Uganda and Africa where an average of over 1,500 people occupy each square mile. Here are the top ten health challenges faced by Ugandans, including the BaMasaaba: neonatal disorders, HIV/AIDS, malaria, lower respiratory infections, tuberculosis, diarrheal diseases, heart disease, congenital defects, stroke, and road injuries. You can help by joining us in our effort to fund Pius Health Clinic. Become a supporting member of Pius Health Clinic today through a recurring monthly contribution of $20 or more, or an annual contribution of $240 or more. We are happy to announce that Pius Health Clinic Uganda Charity, Ltd., the public charity we established, was recently approved for 501(c)(3) tax exempt status by the IRS! Immy Rose and I are the sole administrators of the charity and operate it out of our home. We therefore have no overhead which means 100% of your charitable contributions will go directly to supporting the clinic. We provide a quarterly clinic budget and medical operations report to all contributors. Thank you! Jim & Immy Rose Namutosi Lassiter Administrators Pius Health Clinic Uganda Charity, Ltd. The Pius Health Clinic provides health care in an area that was desperately in need of such care. The email updates and visits to the the Pius website detail the care that the clinic is providing. It is very rewarding to be able to contribute to such a meaningful mission and to see the good that those contributions help enable.

The Pius Health Clinic is the fulfillment of a dream of our friends Jim and Immy Rose Lassiter.
We consider it a rare opportunity to be able to give where we know exactly how the money is spent. The Lassiters provide a detailed quarterly account of every service provided and every dollar spent. We regularly get photos of the people served, the staff providing services, and the service facilities.
We frequently enjoy conversations with Jim and Immy Rose about the events at the Clinic and the villagers served.
We know of no other nonprofit that can offer this kind of immediacy to contributors. We feel privileged to be a part of the support of the Pius Health Clinic.
