Mission: To inspire a healthier community through philanthropic support of preventative care services, healthcare education and technology applications that improve quality of care.
Programs: The foundation develops and stewards philanthropic gifts to help meet the healthcare needs of eastern rio blanco county. The foundation supports the programs and services for pioneers medical center, meeker family health center, and the walbridge wing, as they relate to improving healthcare in the community. The foundation contributed approximately 3,000 to the medical center for the meals on wheels program, 3,000 to walbridge wing for activities related to the physical and mental well-being of the residents and 42,500 to hopewest hospice care for patient care during the year.
the foundation promotes preventative care by encouraging annual check-ups and appropriate medical screenings that will be the compass for each individuals path to better health. The blazin' trails program supports personal wellness throughout the community by covering costs for health screenings, check ups and medical care. The foundation contributed approximately 3,500 to cover blazin' trails costs during the year.
grow your own is a workforce development program designed to address the workforce shortage of healthcare workers in the community. The program includes scholarships, internships, shadowing days, certified nursing assistant training and participation in hands-on introductory healthcare camps for youth. Part of the this program addresses the need to develop local physician, nursing and other healthcare talent for careers that require education beyond the undergraduate level. The foundation contributed approximately 7,000 in scholarships to 6 recipients during the year.
