Dedicated, honest, hard-working and big-hearted! What more could you ask of a charity? I think there should be more transparent ratings for percent of dollars that go to those in need. Pink Lemonade would be near the top of the list but even that would not take into account the many hours of hard work donated by the managers and volunteers. This is a charity that I believe in!
Being a Cancer Survivor Myself - It comes with Great Pride that this Organization has opened their doors and Big Hearts to Help those battling this awful Disease. It takes Special people to help those in need and Pink Lemonade is just that - Special!!!
When we first heard our daughter-in-law (Donna Quintero) was diagnosed with breast cancer it was an OMG moment. In a flash all of our everyday plans and concerns vanished! Time seemed to stop and all we could think about was the well being our children and grandchildren. As a man I knew nothing about breast cancer and felt helpless. I assumed it was a death sentence and we should plan on what we needed to do for Jason and the kids as they went through this with Donna.
I prayed a lot but didn't really have faith it was going to work out.
But then, what I consider a miracle happened (granted a modern miracle but a miracle none the less). The medical team from North Bay and the family made some rapid and crucial moves that saved our daughters life.
A few years later Donna and Jason asked me what I thought about them forming a not for profit to help the families of breast cancer victims. Well, I assumed if anyone knew what was needed it would be them. I thought it was a great idea but would know how to help. I was honored when they ask me to serve on the Board of Directors for what we now know a "PINK LEMONADE". We started out slow but the commitment of Donna and Jason and the Solano County community began to get traction. Today I see this organization doing wonderful things for cancer victims and their families and steadily growing. I have encouraged Donna to start taking a small pay check to help them live since she has resigned from a full time position at Mission Solano. She hasn't and puts everything back into PINK LEMONADE.
we are so blessed and proud of them.
Donna and Jason Quintero, founders of Pink Lemonade are passionate about what they do. This passion was born out of Donna's struggle with cancer. Both she and Jason understand how much a hot, home made meal can mean to a mom who is undergoing chemotherapy. Mom can't hardly walk, breath, and eat herself - and to have a hot, home made family meal is priceless.
Love, comfort and compassion - along with LOTS of encouragement and an ear to listen are so valuable to families in the struggle against cancer. Pink Lemonade provides this and more. I love these guys and I love what they do.
Donna Quintero, the founder of Pink Lemonade, being a cancer survivor herself completely understands what it is like trying to cope with this indiscriminate disease. Donna, her husband Jason, her kids, and her volunteers provide an invaluable service in supplying cancer patients and their families at no cost to themselves much needed support with delivered dinners, lawn mowing, light housekeeping, whatever their necessities are so they can concentrate on their larger picture- GETTING WELL! It takes one to know one when someone is in need and Pink Lemonade definitely knows and is definitely needed!
I volunteer for Pink Lemonade for lots of reasons. But the main 2 are; 1) I love the founder, a survivor , a friend, a warrior in Pink in the battle to defeat cancer. 2) It brings me great joy. It's not the meal itself that just has value, but when I add prayer for the family that is going to recieve it, then I have enlisted the highest and best help they can have. As long as they need me I will continue to volunteer with Pink Lemonade.
I signed up to volunteer with Pink Lemonade, Inc. due to the fact that my best friend's son was recently diagnosed with a rare type lymphoma. My friend lives in Southern California and I am not able to be there to help her and their family during this difficult time. So far, my extent of involvement was handing out information about Pink Lemonade, Inc. during the Home and Garden Show.
I feel blessed to have been able to volunteer with this event and excited to talk to people about the services that Pink Lemonade, Inc. does for its patients. Many in the community were touch to learn more about Pink Lemonade, Inc.
Pink Lemonade is a group of awesome people, volunteers taking the time to make sure nobody fights the cancer battle alone. The services the offer are generous, thoughtful and in many cases, necessities for cancer patients and their families. Definitely a 5 star organization!!
Pink Lemonade provides direct assistance to people in need. Great concept, matches volunteers with those who need a hand. Very practical
