The exec's and the volunteers do such a great job providing good clothing to children in school that are in need. They are very aggressive in getting the support of the teachers in the local schools so that the students know that help is available anonymously. The clothing is picked out on-line by the child and delivered directly to the student totally free. Children who can dress well in school feel more confident and do better in school.
This is a wonderful foundation with people working hard so kids can have clothes to wear. I will try to help out when I can and I hope to see more volunteers come around to help. It is important for kids to have clothes and feel good about themselves.
This foundation was started with a lot of love and hard work, by a small group of friends and family. The dedication and hours given to make this project a success is unbelievable. The first day of school there was a child that didn't want to go to school because they didn't have good clothes and no supplies. Pink Feather was notified and the child was taken care of. If a child feels good about themselves they can and will succeed. I hope this child will always remember that there were people who touched their life in a positive way. Several area schools have used this group for a child in need.
The ladies who started this foundation worked tirelessly to get it up and running. They continue to do so as they put their heart and soul into helping children in need get nice, quality clothing in a dignified manner. This is a tremendous idea and it is taking off like wildfire!
The ways Pink Feather Foundation is boosting self confidence in the youth of its community is remarkable. Keep up the good work!
I may be a little partial as my daughter Jen is one of the co founders of the Pink Feather Foundation, this past year I became an official volunteer. It is so rewarding to be a part of all they have undertaken. In their newest undertaking I find them involving a whole community in a project they are so dedicated to. While helping children become more able to reach their goals, no matter ,that they have been brought up with less than their peers, now they too can walk about with pride in how they appear. I love the fact that other children are working to make this happen for their peers. Seeing my grandchildren come up with ideas to bring in new things through competition at school. This organization is making us proud to be a part of something beautiful!
As an educator at Elm Street School and a resident of Mechanic Falls, Maine, I’ve seen firsthand how much the Pink Feather Foundation has positively impacted our neediest students in the community. Seeing the expressions on the students’ faces when their neatly wrapped suitcase packages arrive is priceless. Giving them opportunities to conveniently shop online and pick clothing options that fit their unique styles is most impressive. I can’t thank the Pink Feather Foundation enough for their charitable efforts!
Awesome asset to this community...especially to the students. Clothing is such an essential part of self esteem and it has to be a load off parent's as well.
My 19 year old daughter and I volunteered here and it was great! I grew up in the Oxford Hills area so this had some special meaning for me. I wish this was around when I was a kid! Thank you Pink Feather for everything you do!
I am more than excited about the pink feather foundation. So many people have items to give, and so many others need to receive. The Pink Feather is so awesome to have brought this all together. Volunteering there makes everyone feel pride. The way this is done no one feels awkward accepting what they need. Everyone benefits.
The Pink Feather Foundation is ahuge asset to their community. The organization is run by small group of local women who are rockstars in their community. I helped write a grant for these fine people and they were the most positive, high energy and helpful clients I've ever worked with. It's been wonderful to watch this non profit grow and serve a larger section of the community. Well done, ladies!
