I've adopted Zoe from PMAR a couple of years ago, and the whole experience has been amazing. They're very supportive with any issues/concerns that arise, evenyears later after you adopt a pet. PMAR is honest and really do care about the animal.

Pibbles and more animal rescue is amazing. I’ve adopted 2 dogs from them and both are the sweetest and most loving souls anyone can ask for.
The adoption process was easy and took about 2&1/2 to 3 weeks in total because they’re very thorough and care about the animals they’re adopting out. They aren’t going to just adopt to anyone. Which any animal lover would appreciate. Each volunteer was kind and very informative of what the next step would be. My puppy was located about 6-7 hours from me and I only had to drive one hour to get him. Over all is was a great experience and I will definitely adopt from them again.

I was trying to adopt a dog through Saleena , President CEO , then she informs me , this 9 year old dog needs complete vetting , no vaccinations , no. Microchip , needs neutering , needs extensive dentistry , she wanted me to drive 90 miles the N.Y.C. in my old 28 year old truck , barely running , and she wanted me to drive to N.Y.C. to get the dog as there was no transportation to me . And I was prepared to give a large donation to the organization for the transport of this dog “ Yankee “ .I caught her on a couple occasions tell me things that were untrue .
She got nasty as Hell with me , I mean totally disrespectful to me , a 72 year old man , when I told her I couldn’t & would t drive to New York City in my old truck .
I had a totally negative experience with PMAR .
I will NEVER have any dealings with PMAR again in the future .
This organization is MUD to me !
I would not recommend this place to anyone !
Sadly our story is not so bright. We met with a dog named Charlie last week, just a few short weeks after putting down our beloved Dog Lucy. Andy my friend was to adopt Charlie, we met with the dog and felt a quick connection she was sweet and affectionate and we couldn't stop thinking about her.
We applied, and were dismissed because we were transparent, Lucy who was under Andy's care, was fully vaccinated in 2018 she was 10, Lucy passed away this year at 13 and we were told because there was no further vaccination between 2018 and 2013 we were denied. We are more than capable to care for this dog and give her the best home with proper vet care. We tried contacting the owner, vice president without any response. Tried to say we would do whatever makes them comfortable to move forward to bring Charlie home. They just dismissed us like we did not matter. I have no respect for this company and its owners.
We are both caring animal-loving individuals who were truly heartbroken to get this news.
We adopted out brindle pup from PMAR about 6 years ago. They bent over backwards to deliver our puppy to us and got volunteers to drive 4 states to meet us. They are a great organization and are doing wonderful things to help the bully breed find homes and to extinguish the stereotypes of pit bull breeds. I loved this group so much that I soon began processing adoption applications for them and to help place more dogs in loving homes. I highly recommend adopting from PMAR, but if you can’t adopt then donate to a wonderful rescue!!!
PMAR was recommended by my step daughter. The whole process was wonderful. I had so much trust in them just from their interview process. We are so lucky to have added Opal to our family. We even became friends with her wonderful foster mom Myra.
I adopted my dog 3 years ago and couldn't be happier. The fosters really know what they are doing and they are so honest. My dog had separation anxiety and I was told that right away. She even gave me advice which helped tremendously. I'm so thankful for these great people who volunteer to help this rescue be what it is, I'd never go elsewhere.
It’s not 5 stars because no one is perfect ... but Pmar comes close!
They do an amazing job of matching potential applicants to the foster dogs/pups and making sure that each forever home is safe and secure.
Most impressive is that once a dog or pup is a Pmar dog they are always a Pmar dog and should things not work out one week or even years later they come back to the rescue.
This small group of volunteers from application processors to foster parents
always try to insure that these dogs, wether they are pulled from a high kill shelter or surrendered by owners always have everything they need from medical care to training support which is costly when you are small rescue and don’t have large sponsors or corporate support. Each rescue is spayed/neutered, hw tested, up to date on shots and microchipped prior to adoption, a costly endeavor but unlike many shelters and rescue they are ensuring there is no chance of contributing to the pet over population.
I have adopted two wonderful adult dogs from Pmar and couldn’t be happier with the process and how well the dogs suit myself and my family.
PMAR ensures the right people bring home the right pet for their situation. They have a strict validation process that includes an application and a home visit by a PMAR member. Gracie (aka Rooster) is a loving, caring and an all around perfect addition to our family. Our 5 year old daughter and Gracie are best friends, they do everything together. We can’t thank PMAR enough for what they have done for us, for others and what they continue to do.
I have been following and volunteering for PMAR for 6 years. I adopted my current dog from them 3 years ago and she is our best friend, she has kept my husband entertained immensely while he has been working from home these last few months. I would definitely recommend PMAR to any of my friends (and have) as I know the animals are cared for and the group is extremely responsible in their care, screening and health of the animals in their care.
They do not stand by their dogs. I adopted my pitbull 8 years ago and she has always had behavioral issues. I signed a contract that said that if I needed to rehome her I would release her back to the rescue. Saleena, the person who runs the rescue, told me directly to have her put down as they would not take her back. When I asked to have her courtesy posted on their page, they said they do not post unadoptable dangerous dogs. She just doesn’t like other dogs! I will never support Pibbles and More again.
My first PMAR pup came at a time of grieving for me. PMAR helped me find the perfect addition to our family. Their dedication to finding great homes for great animals is amazing. I have since adopted another and my life has been filled with laughter and love ever since. The PMAR foster families are truly the heroes, I am in awe of everything they do on a 24/7 basis.
Pibbles and More Animal Rescue is one of the best rescues you can find. The volunteers are dedicated and cohesive. The support and education, they provide when adopting a dog, goes above expectations. They set the dog and the new family up for success. They are in it for the duration. Their hearts are in it for the right reasons and the animals always come first. I highly recommend PMAR.
I have adopted a wonderful dog we named Trigger. They were absolutely wonderful during our adoption. We filled out our application and they were right on it and getting things moving. They were always available to answer questions and the have the best foster families for their pups. Melissa Roberts was my fur baby’s foster mom. I thank god everyday for her. She is one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met and takes wonderful care of her foster pups.
He is my handsome man, my best friend and sidekick. I truly don’t know what I would do without him. Thank you PMAR for blessing me with one of the most perfect fur baby’s
I got my first baby, Zahara, from PMAR. I would not know what to do without her! The whole adoption process was pleasant along with Emily (Zahara's foster mommy). Emily was a huge help and I am so grateful for her and this company.
We have 3 PMAR pups and could not be happier with the process, and support this organization gives. Not to mention they love every pup that passes through. We would not get a dog from anyone else!
PMAR helped find and adopt both our 4-legged family members about 5 years ago, one of whom was on the “to be destroyed” list of the NYACC. Our pups have made our families whole, and this was only made possible with PMAR’s help!
Working with PMAR was a great experience. This was my first adoption and their process was very organized and it all went very smooth. I am still friends with my dog’s foster family. It was a great experience that I would recommend.
PMAR is a great organization! I adopted my puppy from them 2 years ago and was very impressed with the process. The extensive application, background check, and home visit proves that they really care about the well-being of the animals in their care, and that they go to good homes. I would recommend PMAR to anyone, and I applaud the great work that they do!
I love that PMAR houses its pups in foster homes rather than shelters. I knew when I adopted Levi that he had been well loved and cared for while he waited for us!
PMAR is by far one of the best non profit rescues I have ever had the pleasure of working with! We adopted our two pups from them almost 6 years ago and refer them any chance we can... keep up the amazing work PMAR!
I have been volunteering with PMAR for almost 8 years, processing applications, home visits and fostering. The priority they put on the welfare of the animals they take in is top notch. The volunteers in our group work hard to find the best homes for the animals and go above and beyond to help new fosters learn the ropes. I haven't seen a more devoted group of people working to save animals.

I have been processing applications, and doing home visits for over 5 years, and I just got my first foster dog thru PMAR. The stringent adoption process we go thru to make sure our dogs find the perfect home is like nothing I have seen in other rescues. We make sure our dogs are going to the perfect home while making sure the Adopter gets the best dog for their family. The volunteers that make up PMAR is an outstanding group of people who love dogs and want the best for the dogs we rescue.
They take very good of their dogs. Always fully vetted and microchipped. Always there when I have questions. All 3 of my pups are PMAR dogs and could not be happier.
I adopted my now 3 year old pupper Zuzu from PMAR about 2 1/2 years ago, and they were great! I love that the dogs are kept with loving fosters until they are adopted, giving them important socialization skills, basic training, and love and support! I know one of the fosters personally, and I know how hard it is to take in extra dogs to your home, and how much they love these animals, and how much they love seeing them go to forever homes! They do amazing work, and I only hope that they can continue to do so! Many dogs are better off because of them, and there are many more in need!
In Sept. of 2014 we had to put down our beloved 9 year old dog due to bone cancer. I was looking for a new pup in no time as I missed ours so very much. I stumbled upon PMAR and was drawn in immediately. We found our 4-month-old Zephyr there...the Z pups of 2014...and after interviews and a home visit, we met his foster mom halfway from our home and picked him up 11/14/14 and fell totally in love with him in moments. The next day we noticed his back right leg was smaller than the left and he wasn't putting weight on it and he had a slight limp. Long story short, we contacted PMAR immediately and they told us to have our vet check him out. We did and he needed a new hip joint due to injury in his young age, or born with it, etc. PMAR covered the surgery costs and you can't even tell today that Zephyr had that injury. We are forever grateful to PMAR for bringing this wonderful dog into our lives and making it happen by covering that expensive surgery. Pitbulls are a very misunderstood breed and having Zephyr has shed a lot of positive light onto pitbulls amongst our family and friends. PMAR is very thorough in making sure the pups/dogs are going to good and loving homes and I commend them in doing that. I can't say enough good things about PMAR and we have donated in order to help other pups/dogs in need because PMAR is such a worthy cause. When the time comes, we will definitely go through PMAR again for our next rescue pup.
PMAR has been one of the greatest organizations to work with regarding pet adoption. They helped us through each step of the process and continue to be a resource regarding training, behavioral issues, and overall dog care. We have nothing but wonderful things to say from start to finish!
We love Pibbles and More so much! Adopting our dog was an amazing experience, one we are hoping to repeat someday soon. The volunteers are extremely knolledgeable and caring. they want the best family for every dog, and best dog for every family.
I adopted both of my dogs through this organization. They interviewed my vet, my employer, and all my references more than once doing their due diligence in making sure their adoptees ended up in true forever homes. During the process I found it cumbersome and exhausting, but after adopting from them I see why such vetting processes are necessary. They truly care about each and every pet they adopt out!
They care for dogs and cats dearly. I feel like PMAR goes above and beyond when it comes to helping animals. We adopted our 1 dog from them and I just couldn't imagine our life without him.
My pup of 13 years passed away of natural causes . I was heartbroken, devastated . A noticed a litter of puppies who where born and rescued 2 days after he passed . I felt that was special . As I started looking into adopting I found out these babies were saved from abortion by pmar , nog just the puppies but the mom , if they can locate a dad they will rescue him too . This rescue is a group of angels . I applied for "Bella " . I had a phone interview , a reference check , a veterinary check of my records and a hind visit . We were approved in a reasonable amount of time and when our girl was ready we picked up a healthy happy puppy . She is 1 1/2 now and I would be lost without her . Also pmar stands by their dogs for life . Best non profit rescue !!
Pmar has touched my heart in so many ways i have adopted 2 fabulous dogs from them. They are always trying to help as many dogs as they can, and even when it may seem like they cant help just one more tgey always find away.
After contacting a few other shelters and adoption agencies with no luck and no returned phone calls or emails, my husband and I stumbled upon a picture of the cutest little puppy being fostered by Pibbles and More Animal Rescue. My husband sent an email, and we received a response that same day explaining that the puppy was still available and what we needed to do in order to move forward. Everything was so easy, organized, and they moved fast, which we were happy about as we were very anxious to meet our potential new puppy. Although they moved quickly through the process, they were not about to give a puppy to just anyone. They were very thorough in making sure their animal was going to enter into a safe and loving home. All of the people we had contact with were polite and so easy to work with. The one person who truly made our experience with Pibbles and More so memorable and special was our new puppy's foster mom, Dawn. Bringing home our new puppy was a happy and easy experience thanks to all of her help, advice, and how well she cares for the dogs that she fosters. My husband and I have already decided that if and when we do decide to adopt another puppy in the future, that puppy MUST come from PIbbles and More!!
Our puppy Charlie is from PMAR, they were great to work with, not only professional but so warm and loving. They really care about the pups.
I was looking for a small dog. It took a couple of weeks but I saw Redd,a Chihuahua. Monica who fosters cats helped me adopt him. He is my best buddy. PMAR is a caring and animal protective rescue. I recommend them often.
I had been thinking about getting another dog but was still in the thinking stage when a friend of a friend ..you know how that goes posted a local abandoned dog that went to a pit bull rescue in Binghamton so I looked them up and started following their page ...I lived what they stood for..no dog left behind...if they pulled puppies from a shelter they always pulled the mama. If a pair went into the shelter they pulled them out as a pair ...once they pulled mom, dad and puppies.
All dogs are chipped , it's on shots, on heartworm meds and spayed or neutered even puppies which means they are helping keep the dog population down but it also means they spend a lot of money doing it. Like my grand daddy always said. Do it right or don't do it at all and that's what they do..it's always about the Animal. The dogs go into foster homes So they know exactly what the dog is like prior to adoption..no surprises for the adopter.
I adopted a wonderful dog from them and they did everything to make sure she was the right dog for my husband and I..even follow ups to make sure all was good. They may only be a small struggling Rescue but they have taken on a really tough breed to advocate for but in my opinion
They are doing wonders step by step.
After my German Shepherd passed away suddenly at 6 years old, we were really missing having a dog in the house so we started looking. I was originally looking for another shepherd but after so many disappointments and being let down by several other rescues, I came across Pibbles and More. After seeing an adorable litter of puppies and their beautiful mother, I knew I wanted one. I didn't know that all of her puppies were already adopted, all except my first choice. Pibbles was prompt with their correspondence, kept me informed through the whole adoption process and moved things along very quickly. We got our little Scout and she has been such a great dog! She is the biggest love bug and living a much loved, spoiled life!
I adopted a puppy from this organization 4 years ago, they were truly amazing through communications, photos, home checks, and transport of our pup Kane. Kane came to us with great manners, and a wonderful beginning! This is such an amazing rescue , and highly recommend to anyone looking for an additional to their family!
PMAR is a wonderful organization. Just by talking with them, you know that they truly love what they are doing. Animals in trouble are their priorities.
Our first experience in adopting with PMAR was a terrific experience. Ana who came to do our home visit was terrific. Samantha Santoro, the foster Mom to our puppy couldn't have been more helpful.
When we're ready to adopt again it will be through PMAR.
We will always be grateful to PMAR for our sweet girl Daphne.
PMAR is extremely thorough in regards to their screening process, I tried to adopt from other rescues in my immediate area and needless to said the experience was substandard. I adopted one dog her name is Brooklyn (Leisel) and I can't imagine life without her. I was so impressed with the rescue that I now perform home visits that are in my area, it's a great organization and I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of adopting.

My husband and I adopted from PMAR in February 2017 and couldn't be happier. The process was very thorough and I wouldn't expect anything less. They were extremely patient with us and let us have several meet and greets with the puppy we were interested in to ensure that we were adopting the right fit for our family. Our dog Martin is nine months old now and we couldn't imagine our lives without him.
We have fostered with Pibbles and more animal rescue (PMAR) for close to 3 years. We have helped more than 50 dogs meet their forever families. PMAR take not only pit breeds but any dog, any animal in need. PMAR is dedicated to saving, ensuring they get any and all vet care needed and then finding them safe and caring homes. Because no animal deserves less.
Had an amazing experience when we adopted Barrett. They really took their time finding the right match for our family.
I rescued 14 homeless puppies and their mom off the street. PMAR committed immediately to 7 that didn't have a rescue already. They truly have a heart for saving animals and making sure they have the best forever homes!
We loved our experience with PMAR. The adoption process was easy and everyone was incredibly friendly. And it's very evident how much they love and care for all their rescues. We couldn't love our little guy more!!
I adopted my pit bull from this rescue about 2 1/2 years ago. I was impressed on how caring and thorough everyone was on ensuring their dogs were placed in ideal situations. They truly care about each and every dog and go above and beyond to help every dog they can.
We have 3 adopted dogs from this wonderful organization. This rescue is an amazing group of people that have come together with the passion of helping animals. Their foster program is awesome. It has taught my children so much in compassion, educating others plus the time we spend as a family helping with events.
