I came to Phimulani, not knowing what to do. They made me feel comfortable by normalizing my experience. They understood what I was going through and they shared their own experiences.
I didn’t feel like a burden to them. They kept me reminding that they were here for me.

They came with a plan immediately. I didn’t have reminded them of the story, everyone in the organization knew what and when I needed.

We had a deadline to get me to a safe place and they did it. Everyone helped me to get there, all was aware of the plan.

They even helped my friend. Phumulani Minnesota are just awesome!

When I was confused and isolated from friends and family as a result of an abusive relationship, I was able to get support from Phumulani. Comfort was able to be with me during court sessions, have check ins with me, set goals and connect me to therapy that is helping me heal from everything I went through.

I am a survivor and victor of Domestic Violence. Since I have reached out to Phumulani for help, I have gained confidence, leadership, patience, communication skills, self-growth and certificates for classes needed to help my career flourish. I have been able to connect with other organizations as well through Phumulani to help others find housing and resources for our community. Comfort Dondo, CEO of Phumulani and a great leader to learn from has been nothing but wonderful in guiding the way to success. She does great things in Minnesota and across the nation. Being able to witness her great accomplishments and resources she brings back to her team is remarkable. She leads by example and has a heart of gold. I have learned so much here at Phumulani and am so happy to be apart of this team and serve our community as best as I can.

This organization has helped many women. For example, there was a woman who was threatened by her husband and put in danger, and Phumulani helped her finding somewhere to stay until she had a home.

I have done a lot of monitoring and process evaluations of Phumulani's work on the ground. I am impressed with the quality of their programming that translates to positive outcomes in transforming the lives of survivors of victims of domestic violence and Sexual Exploitation and Abuse. Phumulani runs an evidence and practice-based emergency, transitional and Psycho-social support program in Minnesota. They employ a holistic and victim-based approach in addressing client's needs. Their cultural framework in delivering strategies (healing sessions, individual recovery plan, counselling sessions, referrals) is intentional and unique in empowering survivors to positively integrate into community.

Phumulani is the most ambitious no profit I've ever seen to date, confronting the highest powers known. Ive also noticed Comfort Dondo is confronting some of the most notorious criminals not only in the US, but Africa and Europe. She has also successfully campaigned for sexually victimised women under cults stretching between Africa and US, under the TB Joshua and Walter Magaya cult brand leading to a recent successful Supreme Court ruling in Zimbabwe. She has personally supported the abused wife of Vice President Of Zimbabwe, Mary Chiwenga, leading to her medical reprieve, and is currently supporting an acid attack victim (DV), a case now under the Mayo Clinic for reconstructive surgery. An acid public speaker, Comfort has defeated her own biases so she also handles issues of victimised men. Phumulani is handling another cross nation case (UK and US) of FGM of underage girls that's now been take over by tbe British Police force and the Mordern Slavery Helpline since March 2022.

We have received assistance from Phumulani Minnesota here in Zimbabwe with our projects for economic empowerment. The support and mentorship they have provided even through remote platforms has been amazing. We really appreciate all the work being done by Comfort Dondo and her team.

Phumulani was there to help decompress from holding on to years of abuse. Having the women tea ceremonies hearing other women share their stories of a abuse helped me share mine. These tea ceremonies truly make a difference in the African immigrant community

When I reached out for help, I really was distressed. I was assisted and I am now emotionally okay. I really appreciate the love and care. And knowing someone out there cares, to me it really means a lot.

When I called Phumulani, I was ineed of a different place to stay than my car with my two children.
Phumulani, was quick in responding to my families' needs and the staff, understood my culture in a way that made me feel safe.I would highly recommend this organization.
