Their communication is terrible (inconsistent or non-existant). We filled out the ridiculous "application" and then expressed interest in a dog on their web site. We were informed that the foster "parents" wanted it to go to a home that had another dog. This information was nowhere on the dog's web page description! We then inquired about other dogs but cannot get a reply to an email. This organization is a joke and I would highly recommend avoiding them.

I put in an application for a special needs dog. I was able to provide an excellent home with no children, no cats, a large fenced in backyard, and someone who works from home and therefore is always there. I listed the number for my regular veterinarian as well as an emergency vet. My regular vet does not take after-hours emergencies, so I had the other vet as a backup because they do take after-hours emergencies. I have been fortunate enough to never have to use emergency vet. My application was rejected on the basis that the emergency vet had no record of me as a client. When I tried to explain that it was because I had never had to use them they never returned my emails and stopped communicating with me.

Based on the other review, they don't seem to actually want to adopt out their dogs.

I take animal adoption very seriously. I have a beautiful home and large yard for raising a border collie. We also do not have children. However, I am not impressed with the adoption process. We were told that it was a chance that we would receive a beautiful border collie. The inspector inspected my home and asked me many questions about my life. I was told that Phoenix was very interested in me and another family in Georgia and that I would be contacted once they made their selection. I received, by email, a letter stating that they chose a family in North Carolina. When I inquired about the selection, the foster parent told me that they did not want the dog to stay outside. However, we had not intention of keeping the dog outside. The border collie was intended to be an inside dog. They also stated that the family in North Carolina would take the dog on trips. We take trips also. They made up excuses on why I did not get the dog and falsified the information given. I would not suggest going through this agency. They already know who they want to adopt their border collies and will just waste your time.
