Philly Roller Girls

Programs: East coast derby extravaganza ecdx. The ecdx is an annual event that enables philly roller girls to carry out is exempt purposes. This large-scale womens flat track roller derby event features a weekend full of competition by teams from across the us, canada and internationally. Participants include womens flat track derby association member leagues as well as regional rookie leagues eligible to apply for membership into the national organization. The 2014 edcx hosted more than 100 wftda and non-wftda leagues comprising over 900 skaters with an additional 200 referees, officials, statspeople and announcers. A percentage of the ticket proceeds from the 2014 ecdx were donated to the hera foundation, a non-proift that funds ovarian cancer research and conducts awareness initiatives.

the philly roller girls are skater owned and operated and proud members of the womens flat track derby association wftda. The league aims to provide opportunities for women to particpate in a sport that is all their own to develop leadership and teamwork skills and promote athleticism and goodwill in their sport and their community. Members compete in a league comprised of 3 teams and over 50 skaters. Competitive bouts are held locally, regionally and nationally. In addition to bouts held in the philadelphia area, prgs chartered a travel team, the liberty belles and chartered b team, the independance dolls, compete nationwide in bouts and tournaments in such locations as maine, boston, nyc, baltimore, chicago, detroit, pittsburgh, san franscisco, etc. The liberty belles are currently in the top ten of over forty teams in national rankings.
