Programs: Phillips county hospital association is a 6-bed critical access hospital (cah) and rural health clinic, operated by one physician and two nurse practitioners, and is located in malta, montana. The hospital provides quality care and services in er, inpatient, outpatient and swingbed medical care to all ages of our community in phillips county, montana and the surrounding areas. During fy 2017, the organization had total inpatient days of 877 with an average daily census of 2. 41. There were a total of 997 er patients. The provider based rural health clinic (rhc) provides family practice/primary care to meet the medical needs of our rural/frontier community of all ages regardless of ability to pay. Our rhc is hpsa designated as well as a nhsn site. Total visits for fiscal year 2017: 6,373. Home and community based services offered include: home health, personal assistance and dme/oxygen. These services meet the needs of our community's elderly and disabled who have limited to no resources. These individuals either can't make it out of their home or it is very difficult for them to get out of their home for care/services. During the fiscal year the organization had the following statistics:home health visits last year - 1,402, dme/oxygen encounters - 58 and personal assistance clients served equaled 22 with a total of 528 hours of service offered. Phillips county hospital offers a fully functional, staff and equipped laboratory (67,688 tests) as well as radiology departments (x-rays - 1,757 and ct - 365). We also provide pt to inpatients, hh and outpatients (8,059). Services provided during the year also included mobile mammography (223), dexascan (19), telehealth visits (medical - 32, mental health - 15) and sleep studies (19). The organization provided an estimated cost of $24,000 in charity care for fiscal year 2017.
