Mission: The flyers alumni association is an organization that provides funds or medical benefits for the sick and needy individuals, primarily children, and for programs for the prevention of child abuse. See part iii, line 4a
Programs: The philadelphia flyers alumni association, is comprised of former members of the philadelphia flyers hockey club, a professional hockey team competing in the national hockey league. The organization has been formed primarily for charitable and educational purposes and would include assisting less fortunate individuals through charitable contributions and for the prevention of cruelty to children and for fostering amateur hockey throughout the united states. Substantially all of the organization's funds have been used for charitable purposes as required by i. R. C section 501(c)(3). The organization has provided funds or medical benefits for sick and needy children and for programs for the prevention of child abuse. The organization has also contributed to uniforms for amateur hockey teams on occasion. The organization also has contributed in the past and expects to contribute in the future to needy members of the organization. There is no differeniation in the benefits which would be provided to a sick and needy member as compared to a sick and needy individual seeking the same charitable benefit. In, addition, the contributions to members of the organization is expected in only exceptional situations and in total the amounts are expected to be de minimis.
