My experience with the organization dates all the way back to when I was just 8 years old. I felt empowered to solve world hunger by collecting food, door to door, in my own neighborhood. Shortly after delivering my donations, I became an advocate and a life long supporter of this organization. Fourteen years later, I am proud to share my enriching experience with Peyton’s Promise including acting as Vice President of the Advocate Leadership Board, and founding the now annual donation event, Eat for the Hungry. My experience at Peyton’s Promise has shown me the power of choosing a career where I can stay connected to my work. It is the foundation in which I stay connected to my community, and the roots that I always come back to. Supporting Peyton’s Promise is more than a philanthropic commitment, it’s about joining a community of youth empowerment.
I’m a Peyton’s promise advocate and I just love doing the different activities to help people, I love helping people.
Peyton's Promise has been both generous and fun! Bridge Street Mission's Outreach Center has been the recepient of both large amounts of much needed staple food items and the personal presence of a great group of kids. Through their generosity, we have been able to serve over 30,000 meals to those struggling with hunger, homelessness and addiction.
I work for a non-profit organization that was blessed by Peyton's Promise this past summer. They received a grant to distribute meat to hunger partners in the Wausau Area, and we were one of the many recipients. The intern at Peyton's Promise this past summer was so helpful and made sure that the meat pick-up went smoothly. Thank you for all you do!

Being involved with a non-profit organization like Peyton’s Promise as a board director and employee at AbbyBank has been incredibly rewarding experience. I joined when I was in 5th grade and have been helping for around 7 years now. I love to help out at food drives or stock the shelf’s events. The advocate day of training is my favorite because I get to meet a lot of our advocates and see how many people want to help in our community. I really enjoy being to help within our community.
In middle school I wanted to make a bigger impact in my community after seeing a food drive held at my school. I realized then that small decisions such as helping run a food drive or even volunteering throughout the year could make a large change in my community. Peyton’s Promise has helped me to feel that I am making an impact in my community and 4 years later I still feel I’m making a positive contribution to those around me in need.
Peyton’s Promise is a great organization to first start getting involved in the community. Around 5 years ago I joined Peyton’s Promise to help others and make the community more enjoyable and friendly. I wanted to make an impact on others and make the community as united as possible. Peyton’s Promise has done a great job in doing that. The impact they have made on the city has been a big reason why our community is the way that it is.
Hi I’m Gracyn Kilgas and I have been a Peyton’s Promise advocate for 7 years and a leader for 1. Peytons Promise is so much more than a green shirt and some volunteer hours, we meet so many new people and help them in every way we can. Peytons Promise has helped me become a better leader and more in touch with my community.
Peyton's Promise has been a great outlet for me to channel my leadership by organizing many drives in my community and participating in other yearly events. One of my favorite things about PP is the role advocates play, really getting a say in events and being free to share ideas and make them happen! I love volunteering for PP because of the opportunities I get to connect with other advocates from the greater Wausau area as well as younger students from my school district with the same passion for helping others!
I have been involved as a parent for the last 11 years and 8 of them being a teacher advisor supporting advocates in my school. Peyton's Promise is a great organization that supports our community not only monetarily but also by growing great leaders in our youth who want to do more to help our community through selfless service. I am honored to be a part of this organization.

We are forever grateful to you as an Advisor, Hunger Partner and Mom to amazing kiddos that make amazing advocates and leaders.
Peyton's Promise is an excellent example of a well run non-profit organization that brings our whole community together to help offer food to those in need. Donations made to Peyton's Promise helps over 60 Food pantries and schools fill their shelves for distribution. Jubilee House is one of the recepiants of food products. We offer a free community meal each Thursday to those in need in the Wausau area. Currently we are serving an average of 130 meals each week. Peyton's Promise has been a blessing to us by supplying canned goods to stock our pantry as we continue our mission of feeding the needy.
Our church offers a food pantry for those in need. For several years Peyton’s Promise has graciously allowed us to receive monthly food donations from the grocery store food collection bins they maintain. What separates Peyton’s Promise from similar organizations are their youth advocates. The community knows Peyton’s Promise provides food to those in need but what is lesser known is how Peyton’s Promise advocate program benefits the area’s youth. These kids are amazing! Thank you to Peyton’s Promise for all that you do to help feed our community and build future leaders.
I have been an advocate for 9 years now and this work still continues to be rewarding each and every time. I am grateful for the opportunities Peyton’s Promise has given me to help make my community a better place. I also have had the privilege to be an advocate leadership team member for 4 years. I love being able to help the next generation grow to their potential and make the world a better place one can at a time!

We are a small food pantry in Marathon County. We serve approximately 150 individuals (35 families) twice a month. Peyton's Promise holds food drives in local churches, grocery stores, banks, local events., and more. They then contribute food that comes in to local pantries and schools and our pantry has been the recipient of many of these drives. They also have purchased groceries for our pantry directly when we have had special needs. One of their intern's this past summer received a grant and we were able to get meat (a special treat!) for our patrons several times. They serve over 50 other organizations and schools in Marathon County. Another important part of what they do is to mentor youth, teaching them about food insecurity in our communities, and involving them in campaigns to gather and help distribute food to the pantries and schools that they work with. What a great way to give to the community and teach our youth how to be proactive in making a difference in the lives of their neighbors and friends. Peyton's Promise has made, and continues to make, a huge difference to the people who come to our pantry!

Peyton’s Promise has taught me so many valuable life skills that I have not only been able to apply in current positions but will be able to use in order to succeed in future occupations. This is an amazing organization started by an 8 year old in 2006 and now continues with over 210 youth ages 10-18 running food drives, fundraisers and raising awareness about the problem of hunger. This organization supports over 60 community and school pantries throughout central Wisconsin. Each one of our advocates has a passion for changing the world.
