Pets & Pals is a wonderful facility. How unfortunate that people would say untruthful things about them. The dogs at this facility are all cared for and interacted with on a daily basis. It has been a lifelong mission of the director to not only re-home animals in need, but to make their stay as comfortable as possible here. We have one of the most beautiful shelters in the area. We invite anyone to come and see for yourself.

We were ready for a dog to join our family. I fell in love with a dog from Pets & Pals and took my kids out to meet him. The facility itself was clean and most of the staff were friendly and happy to let us take our time getting to know him. We brought Raffi home that day. They told us that he was a little high strung but good with kids and cat tested. He was so sweet and it felt wonderful to have dog energy in our home...until about day three when he attacked our two year old. I took him to the vet, where he promptly tried to attack anyone who came to close. I had to muzzle him when he was in our house, I couldn't take him out for walks, I kept him in my bedroom at night with the door locked so that the kids couldn't accidentally bump into him in the middlenof the night and suffer an attack. All the while I would lie awake in bed wondering if he was going to attack me. It just kept getting worse. Two weeks in he had bitten and terrorized all six members of our household. When I called the shelter they said "We can't take that dog back, he has a bite history. You need to have him put down." That was it, no help, nothing. I couldn't find a place for Raffi, no shelter would take him. I truly believe that Pets & Pals knew he had these issues, he had been with them for six months. They don't interact with the dogs, they only rotate them in and out of the cages a few times a day to play in the dog area, but they don't socialize them at all. I am so sad to say that I may never feel safe adopting a shelter dog again. Shame on Pets & Pals.
