Has a board member who is an active backyard breeder. The organization claims to not adopt to people with not-spayed pets but then has a board member who breeds and does adoption placement. They turn down perfectly good homes because of not-spayed pets (who aren't even being bred!). Total double standard. Not a reputable rescue to donate to. Previous good reviews on this page were written by board members.

Avoid at all costs, especially sponser in Upper Marlboro. Adopted dog that was supposed to have been tested for heart worms but wasn’t. Dog ended up getting a cataract due to the heart worms and dog almost died. Do not trust “vetting summary sheet” - had fraudulent information about dog being tested for heart worms but never was tested. Hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars spent due to misinformation that was provided. Not to mention trauma caused by this experience to kids over dog almost dying.

I highly recommend PetConnect Rescue to find your furever friend! The organization and volunteers are incredibly kind and professional and helped us find our perfect rescue dog. We are so grateful for the hard work this organization does to save animals in need. If you are looking to rescue an animal from a reputable organization in the DC/MD/VA area then Petconnect is for you.

I am an adopter as well as a volunteer and can attest to the commitment of this rescue to find loving homes for at risk dogs and cats. They know their animals well due to a well organized foster program. The volunteers and small staff are devoted to making the adoption process smooth. I highly recommend PetConnect Rescue!!

I am one of hundreds of volunteers who, along with a few employees, work tirelessly to fulfill PetConnect Rescue's mission: to save dogs and cats from being euthanized and place them in their forever homes. By placing rescued dogs and cats in foster homes where their needs are identified, PetConnect has an high success rate of matching animals and adopters. Two PetConnect dogs have been cherished members of our family.

I have volunteered with PetConnect Rescue for about 6 years now and I really appreciate their commitment to the cause. The organization only employs two full time employees and three part time employees but is able to rescue over 700 animals each year. They help adopters through the adoption process to ensure they get a dog or cat that matches their lifestyle. I have adopted two dogs from the organization and have fostered almost 30 cats. From every angle, I believe this organization is doing good work.

PetConnect Rescue is a wonderful organization with many devoted volunteers and a small dedicated staff. It is clear that everyone in this group cares deeply about the animals they rescue. Muddy Paws Farm, which serves as their rescue center, is incredible too. The people who run this group clearly take their mission to heart. They also cover all medical costs for the animals they bring in and will keep the animals in foster care or at the farm for however long it takes to find the right home. I can't recommend this organization more highly!
