We have adopted 3 of our dogs from Pet Angels Rescues. We now also volunteer with them. This organization is one of the best I've ever seen. Dana takes the time to make sure the dogs match the people. The other volunteers are super friendly and also have the best interest of the dogs in mind. We will continue to volunteer and likely continue to add to our pack from Pet Angels Rescue.
Dirk aka “Beckham” is turning 16 years old this year. I just wanted to say, “Thank you, Pet Angels for trusting us with great pup!” ❤️ He is now called our “Benjamin Button”!

Am fleeing a domestic violence situation and pet angels came to my motel room and brought my animals food and were very helpful and caring. Please donate to these angels who help and use their fund entirely for the animals
Many of you know Jenny Elder from Bella Animal Rescue Shelter. This first picture was posted on Facebook. Somebody giving this dog away. I tried to get her but someone already snatched her. I'm a US Army Retired Disabled Combat Veteran. My husband is retired AF Pilot with slight Alzimer. As former law enforcement officer, I know that German Shephard are great for all types of missions. I've been praying and it was in the hands of God. That he find us a German shephard puppy. I missed her by seconds and was sad but hopeful. Have been waiting for years. I didn't want to buy one, wanted to rescue one.
The night before I saw her picture. I saw a noticed where Bella Rescue was in need of cat litter and they had a Amazon list. I message Jenny and asked if there was anything else they needed. The next day, I message Jenny and we were going through the list for more things. I had never met Jenny before in my life. Towards the end, I told her we had no pets others than a parrot named yankee. Jenny sends me the first picture. I told her I knew and was real sad because she's gone. I missed Jenny message where she said they had just got her in. So I'm telling Jenny about how I missed her by seconds and Jenny "lol, I know because I snatched her up".
I told Jenny that if all things come together she's mine and her name is faith. We'll as you can see by second picture. She's home (I'm fostering to adopt) and her name is Faith Anne. Jenny is a true angel voice for these animals with no voice. I plan to help foster kittens as soon as Faith gets used to her home.
Please I'm sure my story is not the only one. Rescue shelters make them possible. IF YOU CAN'T ADOPT OR FOSTER. CONSIDER DONATIONS OF ALL KINDS. Thank Jenny Elder and her staff. They are touching many lives silently. Because not only have they touched ours. They've blessed it with Faith.
The board fired the person who founded this rescue 20 years ago. Now it's all about money instead of focusing on animals
In 2006 my hsband and I had been taking care of my Brother's pug and when he took him home we missed having that comanioin. Steve found Pet Angels had just ben been involved in the rescue of 36 pugs from a puppy mill. We went to adoptin event hosted at PeSmart and found our boy Joe. He was always youful snd happy! My brother also brought his dog back and we had THE BOYS! Studlee taught Joe how to be a great dog. The best experience ever!

We love the folks at Pet Angels! We got our boy Joe (called Zander before he got a new name here). He was rescued from a puppy mill with a bunch of other pugs. Having lived in a crate his whole life, he had no idea how to be a dog. Coached by our other pug Studlee, he's a happy joyful boy. When my husband has had several serious health issues, Joe is a huge motivator to get well and get home. Had Pet Angels not been there to rescue him, I'm not sure if my husband would still be alive. This pic is of Studlee the mentor and Joe the quick learner, with his tongue always out@
Pet Angels Rescue has a wonderful facility that is led by a passionate Director named Dana and volunteers who seem very committed to the mission. After reviewing the financials we learned that Pet Angels relies mostly on volunteer assistance and only 2 full time employees and 2 part time employees and at least 100 animals in their care. 99% of the donations go directly to the animals care and preparation for adoption. When we visited the adoption center I was worried it would make me sad, instead it was bright and cheerful and the animals did not seem stressed and are very well taken care of in the center. Visiting during an adoption event it seemed like a party, a celebration for the animals going to new homes.
Review from Guidestar
This place first denied me and did not even read my applacation correctly. Then denied me do to having a cat. I am trying to adopt a husky. I currntly have a huske who i had to train to be around a cat. After making it clear several time on the applacation that i have a full acer finced in yard they first denied me as on of the reasons because a rual area for a pet to run around is unsafe and usually the animal will get into trouble. I have not had any good experences with them. When i called i was not given a call back in a timely manner or in a manner as promised. If you have any other animals in your home i would highly recommend looking some place else to adopt another animal.
My husband and I have adopted 2 huskies from Pet Angels Rescue. Dana, the founder and President, puts every animal she rescues above all else. Dana and the rescue care taker, Lynn, love them all and take amazing care of over 80 animals at the rescue that they pull from rural kill shelters. Pet Angels is a no kill rescue and an adoption center that is new and bright, cheery and inviting. The adoption process is thorough but seamless and enjoyable. The rescue is very well operated with limited paid staff and a lot of volunteers who love donating their time. Please adopt from Pet Angels before ever buying a new pet from a breeder or pet store, you will be amazed at how grateful and loving they can be!
We love this nonprofit, they go above and beyond to love, place, and give their rescues the perfect home!
3 years ago I was not looking for another dog. I had German shepherd who was all I could handle. My grandson who was born with brain damage and my daughter were living with me- so my hands were full. And so was my plate. I would always scroll Pet Angels page looking at all the cute rescue pups and hear her wonderful stories. Normally I would just read and scroll . But o this one day, a dog did not only capture my eye -- but my heart as well. I wuickly shot her and email and she informed me of the process. The dog came in with many other dogs from a hoarder situation. This. Dog was all I could think about. She was not medically released nor was she spade so I had to wait almost 5-6 weeks.
I loved her first through a photo. And then I got to meet her. The first day I met her she was extremely hyper and hungry and ready for love. I took her home and instantly she became a member of our family. She was playful and kind she was funny and cuddly. She got along wel instantly, with my German Shepherd. And soon she was my grandson's best friend following him so closely behind watching his every move. My grandson fell in love with her as well as my entire family- today she is one of the most kind sweet cuddly lapdogs I have ever seen in my life. She is beautiful inside and out and so patient with children and other animals. She seems to know when someone is hurting because that's where she will hit two. The lap of the hurt. I am so blessed to have her and I am so blessed that Dana posted that pic that day and showed me that I needed more love than I already had.
Meet Anna Grace.
Pet Angels is a great organization who truly care about animals. We adopted a super sweet dog from Pet Angels several years ago who they had tak n in off the street. Pet Angels works to make sure the dog will be a good fit for the entire family to ensure a forever home. I have since become a volunteer and still think they do an amazing job!
I adopted 2 of my dogs from Pet Angels, and have been fostering and volunteering for them for several years since. They have been fantastic and I can't give them enough praise.
In 2009, I was looking for a young golden retriever to train as a therapy dog. Our local golden rescue group did not have what I was looking for at the time. Dana at Pet Angels Rescue located exactly what I asked for...a beautiful young girl who happened to be on the euthanasia list at a rural shelter. When Dana went to get her from the shelter, Mandy was so scared and timid that she had to be carried out. After observing her at the Rescue a while, Dana told me Mandy was shy but very friendly and was loose and wiggly once she got comfortable with her surroundings. That convinced me that with training she might have potential as a future therapy dog. And the rest is history! Mandy has now been working as a certified therapy dog for over 7 years, visiting schools, nursing homes, cancer hospitals and libraries. She also participates in a program for young adults with autism and other challenges. Next year she should reach her goal of earning a gold medal from the American Kennel Club for accumulating over 400 therapy visits. I am forever indebted to Dana and Pet Angels Rescue for saving this girl for us!
My husband and I adopted our two fur babies about 9 months ago from Pet Angels and couldn't have been happier! Our puppies were happy and healthy and the staff was very helpful and understanding of our trucking life! (A few places refused to adopt to us because the dogs would be living with us on the road.)
I adopted Mel-lencamp! We are made for each other. I'd like to thank Dana and all the angels here! I appreciate all of the hard work they all do.
I adopted my husky mix Elsa from Pet Angels about a year and a half ago. They were great to work with! Elsa is a joy and I wholeheartedly recommend them for anyone looking for a pet!
Top priority in this rescue is the well being of all the animals they have. Wonderful volunteers and the director is awesome. They always go above and beyond to help those that no one ele will with little to no recognition. They're the best!
Our first experience with Pet Angels was several years ago when we were looking for a companion dog for our husky. This rescue is one of the few that will rescue artic dogs. We found a beautiful malamute who Pet Angels rescued just hours before the dog was scheduled to be put down at another shelter. We had to fill out forms and pass a background check as well as meet Pet Angels requirements for the safety of this dog. We also had to sign an agreement that if we found at any time that we could no longer keep the dog then we would return the dog to Pet Angels. They really care about the animals that they rescue. They don't just rescue healthy animals. They take in any animal in need, get them healthy and then work to find "forever" homes for them. This rescue is the most remarkable rescue I have ever come across and should be rated as one of the best in the country.
We weren't looking for a dog when our Mindy chose us to be her new furever family... she was sitting in a crate at our local PetSmart, just waiting for me to come through the door. It was love at first sight for all concerned and she's been our constant companion and joy for about 13 years ago. She's been the best dog ever and I give props to Dana and Pet Angels every day. It takes a special person with dogged (no pun intended) determination to rescue animals and Dana's got it. She and her helper bees are a blessing to all the animals they touch.
I have adopted twice from Pet Angels, and I couldn't be happier. They are very thorough in their screening to ensure their pets get placed into good homes. It's not about the numbers for them, it's about the pets. I also love that they maintain an active social media presence and give advice to people about their pets when needed.
My family has adopted 3 amazing dogs from Pet Angels. The people who work with PAR care very much about all of the animals in their care. I enjoy volunteering at their adoption center and weekend events.
We adopted our dog, Mae, from Pet Angels Rescue in January of 2010. Mae was in pretty poor shape when she and her sister were found - weak and emaciated, she could barely stand. Dana and her team nursed them back to health and today she is the happiest, most loving dog I've ever known.
We are so grateful to Pet Angels Rescue for the work they do. They step in when others can't, and everything they do is done with the best interests in mind of both the animals in their care and the people interested in adopting them. They're a true asset to the animal rescue world. My family and I will always be thankful for the work they do and especially for making it possible to have our sweet girl in our lives.
We have adopted 2 dogs and 1 cat from Pet Angels over the past 7 years. Dana and her crew are an incredibly dedicated bunch and we are grateful for everything they do!
I have adopted three dogs from pet angels in the past three years and I can't tell you enough how amazing this organization is. They treat the dogs better than any other rescue I have been to. All the dogs and cats have access to a playyard, inside and outside kennels, doggy dorms, outside dog runs, cat room and cat patio. If they have any medical needs they are tended to immediately with no hesitation at all. I can't reccomend adopting your new best friend from pet angels rescue enough. Dana and all the volunteers spend so much time with each and every animal and makes sure they will be perfect for your family. Please consider adoption and absolutely consider adopting from Pet Angels Rescue.
I am a Pet Angels Rescue volunteer. I work very closely with Dana, the President of Pet Angels and I see the day-to-day operations of the shelter. Dana and her group of volunteers work tirelessly day in day out to save animals from rural pounds with high euthanasia rates that have no public shelters. If it weren't for rescues like Pet Angels, these animals would have no chance at finding a loving home.
The unique thing about Pet Angels is that it isn't about numbers for us. Yes, we try our very best to find every animal a home but our main priority is finding the perfect fit for the animals in their new homes. I can honestly say that every volunteer works so incredibly hard to get to know the animal and the potential adopter before placing them in their new home so that we know it will be the last home for these animals that have been homeless, neglected, abused, or moving from shelter to shelter.
Thank you Pet Angels Rescue, Dana and Nancy for introducing us to our precious Witten!
I am so impressed with how this facility makes it a point to place pets with the right family!
He's brought so much joy and life to our home!!
Thank you for all your dedication and love of animals!!
We originally became involved with Pet Angels Rescue when we adopted a 12 week old puppy 3 years ago. We have since adopted another little boy who has stolen our hearts. What the public does not see is the never ending, tireless work that goes on behind the scene in order to be the voice for so many pets in need. A wonderful rescue that evolved from truly meager beginnings that is full of love and compassion for all animals. Could not ask for a more caring, supportive, dedicated group with the same goal in mind...saving the over abundance of helpless, homeless, pets in need.
We were searching for a new family member when we came across this wonderful organization. They posted a video of Jazz. We instantly fell in love with her. They make the process easy to adopt. The animals are very well cared for. She is the dog ever. I would recommend pet angels Rescue to everyone looking to adopt a fur baby.
Pet Angels is a fantastic organization! I was devastated when I had to decide to find my 10 year old cat a new home, but Pet Angels worked with me and found my kitty the most perfect home. The outcome has been such a blessing for me and my family and I know my kitty is going to love it as well!
I highly recommend Pet Angels!!!
We walked into PetSmart one weekend to buy some dog food, and decided to take a quick peek at the adoptable dogs. We didn't intend to adopt a puppy, as we already had two dogs at home, but when I picked up Piper, (originally named Angel) I just couldn't put her down. She was 4 months old, and absolutely gorgeous. She came from a large litter where the mother had been chained to a wall for her entire life, and the puppies would certainly have perished if not for a neighbor who intervened, rescued the puppies and contacted Pet Angels Rescue for help. The adoption process was easy, and the volunteers were friendly. We have continued to support Pet Angels Rescue over the years with some small cash donations and by purchasing items on their Amazon wishlist. We also utilize the website www.smile.amazon.com when we order items from Amazon, so that a percentage of the money we spend is donated to Pet Angels Rescue every month. We truly appreciate the service that Pet Angels provides to the community. Dana and her volunteers work tirelessly to find homes for these animals who would otherwise be forgotten. Of course we have a soft spot in our hearts for Pet Angels, because it gave us our precious baby, Piper!
I'm so grateful to have been able to take advantage of your courtesy listings. I found 2 little dogs the best homes ever!! Dana also took in a mother dog and several puppies from me that were found on a lot where a welder was working. I followed their journey through Pet Angels up until they too found awesome homes! She has also given me great advice and answers to my questions through the years that I've known her through Pet Angels. There is not a kinder harder working woman (for animals) on the planet. Thank you, Dana, from the bottom of my heart.
We adopted our Evie (was Bianca) from pet angels rescue in 2011 at a midnight woofness event. She continues to be our loving emo dork.
Extremely rude!! The president does not know how to communicate with people, and a great pet missed out on a loving home today because my family was "getting rid of a pet to get a pet" as she kept repeating. I offered to let her check out the living arrangements for the dog to ensure her wellbeing, but no, she kept refusing to listen and asked petco to escort me out. Very unprofessional , I hope animals don't get euthanized because of her rude behavior.
I adopted my first dog, Charlie Brown, just before Valentine's day 2010. He's such a character and full of love. With all the joy he brought to our home over that year, I knew I wanted a friend for him. I called Dana at Pet Angels Rescue and reminded her which dog I had adopted and told her that he needed a friend. Dana knows all of the dogs in her care so we'll that she knew immediately which dog to recommend we adopt next. I brought Charlie with me to an event and he was very excited to see Dana again! Dana brought out Hope for the two to meet. It was absolute puppy love at first sight! Just to be sure she was the one we wanted, we let Charlie meet a few other dogs at the event. Dana was spot on though with her recommendation - Already Charlie only had eyes for Hope! They've been a part of our family for 6 years now and we can't imagine life without those sweet, funny pups! Thanks to Dana and her team of volunteers for all they do!!
Our family has adopted 2 wonderful dogs from Pet Angels. One in 2013 and the second in 2015. I don't know what I would do without these 2 baby boys in my life. We wouldn't have them if it weren't for this rescue. They do amazing work and go above and beyond to save these dogs from sometimes horrible conditions. I always recommend them to anyone who is looking to adopt a rescue!
The first photo is Gracie the first time we ever saw her at 12 weeks old on the Pet Angels Rescue website . The second picture is Gracie a little over a year later in our home. She is the best little dog & the reason I became involved with Pet Angels as a volunteer. You will not find a more caring group of people who give so much in helping find forever homes for the pets that come into rescue. The director, Dana Pucket, is an amazing person who is so knowledgable about animals and always does what is best for them. She truly dedicates her life to rescue and to saving the lives of dogs like Gracie. If you ever find yourself in a position to take a pet into your heart & home...consider Pet Angels Rescue.

I adopted my dog, Bullet, from Pet Angels Rescue 3 years ago. They worked enthusiastically to find a companion that was the right fit for me in correspondents and when I met them at an adoption event (and they nailed it by the way!). I've seen them at work first-hand, and I follow them on social media. The "Pupdates" that happy adopters post on their Facebook page are a testament to their success. Their care is unmistakably genuine, and they constantly go above and beyond for the animals.
I got my little guy from Pet Angels 3 years ago. He truly picked me as I was not looking for another fur baby. He was everything the Angels said he was..(all about the toys). I have laughed every day at his antics and say prayers of thanks daily for Pet Angels for fostering him until he could find me.
Pet Angels Rescue changed my family's life. As an adopter first and then a volunteer for Pet Angels, without a doubt the animals come first. No question. Pet Angels provides all animals with the best health care, shelter, food, love and finding the right forever home. Dana Huckaby (Puckett), Pet Angels President, is a true angel. And I'm not saying that lightly. She is the hardest working and most selfless person my husband and I have ever met. Here is how we met Dana and Pet Angels:
In 2014 my daughter's house was broken into at college while 5 girls slept in their rooms. No one was hurt, thank goodness, but we needed to make a change. We love dogs, so my daughter decided to adopt a dog believing that would help as added protection. She searched online and found a 3 year old husky named Bella at Pet Angels Rescue. We completed the Pet Angels application online and then attended an upcoming adoption event. Bella was one of the dogs at the event. My daughter fell in love instantly. Bella was a perfect fit; she was housebroken, calm temperment and grew to be protective of my daughter, not aggressive, but would definitely growl a little at the cable guy!!! I couldn't believe how this sweet Bella ever ended up in the pound....TWICE! She is absolutely precious, very loving, extremely well behaved and the most loyal dog.
I was so impressed by the organization that I asked to volunteer, which is how we adopted a second dog from Pet Angels, named Batty Koda! Dana had pulled Batty, a 4 month old husky, from a local pound as he was dropped in the night drop very sick. He had a rare tick disease and required an emergency blood transfusion. I offered to transport him home from emergency care and kept him for a day since Dana was out of town. I became so attached to him instantly, and so did my 3 other dogs that when I took him back I cried the entire way to the rescue. Luckily my husband had also fallen for Batty and we were able to adopt him!! Today he is a happy and healthy sweet adorable dog and the love of our life!
But I can't stop there....I have one more to share! Someone dropped a puppy in the night drop at a local pound while he was having seizures. He was absolutely beautiful and so sweet. Dana pulls him from the pound and takes him immediately to emergency care. He was there for a few days when I offered to pick him up from emergency care on a snowy day....and you got it... I fell in love again! This time my husband had cut me off at 4 dogs total and I was not allowed to adopt him. I was so sad. But he received the best health care from Dana at Pet Angels and he never had another seizure. My daughter adopted him and named him Jax. Jax and Bella are her two babies and the two sweetest and best dogs ever.
My husband and I have become more involved with Pet Angels because we witness on a daily basis, how every animal that Pet Angels brings into the shelter is provided with the best care possible. My husband also assists Pet Angels in tax preparation so he knows the operating expenses and he couldn't believe how much Dana was doing for the animals with very limited funds. This is an organization that truly cares about the animals first and follows the mission of placing them in loving forever homes with only private donations that go directly to the care of each animal. That is no joke! I have so many more I want to adopt. So please take a look at Pet Angels site at www.petangelrescue.org and adopt them for me!!
