Mission: People's theatre project unites members of under-represented communities to raise awareness of their shared struggles through the personally and socially transformative process of collaborative theatre making.
Programs: School based theatre residencies people's theatre project partners with new york city schools and community-based organizations to provide students in grades k-12 with deep and meaningful engagement in the artistic process. Students have a unique opportunity to develop and perform a devised theatre piece focused on a social theme using a variety of theatrical forms including scenes, monologues, group poems, movement and music pieces to address topics such as bullying, relationships, and violence.

The plays created by the community actors address some of the most pressing issues nyc neighborhoods face and open space for dialogue.
