I started working at paws a few months ago, and I absolutely love it! The first time I had ever seen PAWS was when I moved to the area, about 8 years ago. As soon as I went inside, I knew that I had to volunteer there. I have always loved animals, and this would be perfect for me. I knew I had to help in some way before I was able to become a Junior Volunteer, so right away I started making donations as often as possible, giving a yearly donation around Christmas time, and donating food and other items with my friend. I waited until I was old enough, and when I finally was old enough to be a Junior Volunteer, I applied. I was accepted and started working Wednesday nights. I help out with many chores such as dishes, laundry, desk work, dog walking, feeding & taking care of the animals, and giving them love and individual attention. I wouldn't trade it for anything! I love working with the dogs and cats there. It's so tempting to bring all of them home, but I know that I can't. All the animals at PAWS are very sweet and loving, and we are able to give each and every one of them the care and love that they so deserve. None of them are left behind or favored. The best part of my job is seeing animals get adopted, especially when they have waited so long for their forever home. I love seeing the animals open up to me with time and love, too. Some of them are very scared to be at the shelter, but after giving them time and letting them know that they are safe and loved, they open up to you and it's one of the greatest feelings ever. I hope to be able to continue my work at PAWS Animal Shelter for years to come! It truly is a great organization.
I have adopted 2 cats from this organization before, and they are the sweetest things you could ask for! The first time my family and I came to PAWS looking for a cat to adopt, we fell in love. We started making money and supply donations as soon as we could. My daughter also works here as a volunteer, and she loves it! Animals have always been her passion, so this was a great place for her to work! She enjoys being able to help out the animals in any way that she can. PAWS is a great place to go. They are very kind and caring towards the animals, and give them the love and care that all animals deserve.
