Mission: The mission of pensacola opera is to enrich the culture of northwest florida by producing professional opera performances, educational programs and other opera-related community events for people of all ages, interests and backgrounds.
Programs: 2017 mainstage productions were "aida" on january 20 and 22, 2017 and "dead man walking" on march 17 and 19, 2017. 250 students attended the final dress rehearsals of aida and dead man walking. Performances were presented at the pensacola saenger theatre.
during the 2016/2017 season, 200 education and community outreach programs reached over 40,000 students, teachers, administrators, and adults. Goldilocks and 3 singing bears, aria serious, morning at the opera, and from words to music reached 14,440 students and teachers. Glory denied showcase performances had 235 in attendance. Educational luncheons, showcase, recital, opera on tap, and town hall meetings reached 13,200 children and adults. Community outreach performances reached 12,400 audience members. Summer opera camps served over 20 campers.
