Mission: The pennsylvania leage of urban schools is a non profit organization created to support, promote, and improve education opportunities for students in pennsylvania's urban school districts. The organization shall: 1. Support, promote, and improve urban education through exchange of ideas, action plans, and strategies among plus members and others interested in the same goals. 2. Propose and/or support legislation favorable to urban education. 3. Keep all members well informed on matters related to urban education. 4. Establish and maintain productive relationships with appropriate public and private organizations. 5. Pursue any issues considered appropriate by the league.
Programs: Working for the benefit, common purpose of plus member districts. The member schools districts currently are divided into "funding districts" and "nonfunding districts. " funding districts include: allentown, bethlehem, greater johnstown, harrisburg, lancaster, lebanon, reading, scranton, and wilkes-barre area. Non funding districts include: chester-upland, coatesville area, easton area, philadelphia, pittsburgh , southeast delco, steelton-highspire, williamsport and york city.
