Mission: Recognizing that the making of craft enriches all, the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen seeks to encourage the practice of and nurture excellence in heritage and contemporary crafts. We do this education, advocacy and support of the practicing craftsman.
Results: 1,400 members in 33 states. More than 50,000 served annually.
Target demographics: anyone interested in craft, including those active in craft, such as established professionals and emerging artists, as well as patrons, collectors, hobbyists and lovers of craft.
Geographic areas served: Pennsylvania as well as nationwide
Programs: 1. More than 80 workshops annually --each targeted to crafts enthusiasts, emerging artists or established professionals. 2. Four nationally ranked fine craft fairs each with specialized workshops or demonstrations that educate the public. 3. The Guild Store in Lancaster PA that features 100% handmade work and the fine craftsmen who labor to produce them. 4. Varied membership programs.
