Our nonprofit agency recently finished Certification in the PANO Standards for Excellence program. We had most of the policy and procedure requirements in place. Some just needed fine tuning. Some were rewritten. Throughout the process, PANO staff and PANO consultants, (provided to us on a scholarship) were extremely helpful, both as resources and motivators. Receiving Certification for the Standards for Excellence gave our nonprofit an outstanding tool to organize and perfect all Board, Staff and Volunteer Policies and Procedures. It was a long process, but was definitely worth it. I encourage all nonprofits to start the appliation!
PANO provides invaluable resources to the PA non-profit community. Their highest profile services include Standars for Excellence, legislative advocacy and affordable non-profit training programs. However, they provide much more. Contact PANO's office at (717) 236-8584 to find out all of the benefits. I am very satisfied with the PANO services that the Allegheny-Kiski Health Foundation has availed itself of over the years.
