I became a donor to Pennies in Action 501c3 after I participated in a clinical trial for early breast cancer at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Brian Czerniecki was the principal investigator for this trial as well as my surgeon. Dr. Czerneicki is an immunologist developing cancer vaccines as well as being an oncological surgeon.

I totally support this research and I know first hand of its benefit to patients. My cancer was completely gone after six shots of a vaccine made from my own cells. This is cutting edge immunotherapy and the future of cancer treatment will be heavily involved in vaccines.

As Florida Director, volunteer and donor, I am proud of this organization and the work it has done to support research in cancer vaccines.

Pennies in Action is a grass roots organization that supports breakthrough research and trials for cancer vaccines that have proven efficacy in humans, but are still in trial stages.

The current cancer research project that Pennies in Action is helping to fund is conducted at the University of Pennsylvania by Dr. Brian Czerniecki. The vaccine process developed by Dr. Czerniecki has been proven to work in humans, in some cases destroying the cancer cells in just six weeks. There have been no relapses in any cancer patients treated with vaccine in over 7 years! The long term goal is to use the vaccine technology in babies to prevent cancer from occurring in the first place.

The vaccine will enter into costly Phase 3 trials in April 2013. Drug companies and medical equipment manufacturers support most Phase 3 trials, but they have no interest in funding this type of research, as it could eventually put an end to the need for cancer drugs. The trials require funds from private donors in order to complete the Phase 3 trials.

Pennies in Action is a 100% volunteer organization. There is no paid staff. So,except for some very small expenses, every dollar contributed goes toward the cancer vaccine research.

The charity's website is www.penniesinaction.org.
