Mission: Penndel mental health center, inc. , a private, non-profit community mental health center, is dedicated to promoting community well-being through the provision of comprehensive behavioral health treatment options, education and support to individuals and (cont'd on sched o)families in lower bucks county. Pmhc's mission is to make quality mental health, co-occurring and intellectual disabilities services readily available to all residents. Pmhc employs a staff of highly trained, experienced professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, caseworkers, social workers, registered nurses and administrative staff. Agency policy is determined by a board of directors consisting of up to 18 community leaders who work closely with the executive director and administration. Services are provided without regard to race, color, gender, religion, disability or limited english proficiency.
Programs: Outpatient services: diagnostic, evaluation and treatment services are provided to child, adolescent, adult and elderly clients in programs tailored to the needs of our clients, from minimal level of care to intensive care in a rehabilitation setting. The center provides a wide range of treatments modalities, including but not limited to individual, group, family and medication therapy and psychological testing. Additionally, the center provides a specialized intervention, which integrates mental health and addiction recovery supports offered to individuals with co-occurring disorders.
community residential rehabilitation (crr) services and supported living (sl): the crr and the sl programs are designed as transitional living services with emphasis upon rehabilitation of persons recovering from episodes of major mental illness and/or presenting significant problems in social, vocational or interpersonal functioning resulting from serious mental illness. Services within these programs are specifically designed to assist persons with chronic psychiatric disabilities to live as independently as possible through the provision of training assistance in the skills of community living and by serving as an integrating focus for the person's rehabilitation.
intellectual disabilities division (idd): the idd supports coordination services provide resource and referral services, advocacy and service monitoring to individuals aged 3 and up who have been determined as eligible by having an iq of 70 or below (via standardized testing). After a comprehensive intake assessment, the case is assigned to a supports coordinator who develops a life management plan for the individual, which is renewed yearly.
family support services - mental health and intellectual disabilities: group and individual assistance is provided to some consumers of mental health and intellectual disabilities services through support, information and referral and linkages. The focus is to help individuals and/or families to be able to live successfully in the community. Mental health family support services funding also funds the community support program coordinator, a position that oversees and facilitates the bucks county community support program (csp). The bucks county csp is a coalition of individuals who receive mental health services, their family members, mental health providers and interested community members along with the bucks county department of mental health/developmental programs and other county behavioral health partners in an equal partnership to promote recovery and excellence in the delivery of community based mental health services.
