My daughter tried out for PGC right before her 6th birthday, started a few months later in the fall, and is now in her 4th year with PGC. She loves to sing and this has been such a wonderful organization for her to be a part of. Not only is she getting to sing, she's meeting new people, and learning musicianship as well. The teachers are all amazing and build these girls up in all areas. PGC is great in person, but they were even more amazing during the last year and a half as we've had to deal with the restrictions of COVID. Normally the girls meet once a week to sing and they have concerts twice a year in the winter and summer. During COVID, the teachers all pivoted to Zoom lessons and met with the students twice a week. They also continued the concerts, although they were virtual for the last year. Teachers came up with games and activities that the girls could do via Zoom and they taught the girls how to video themselves singing so that they could hear their progress and put together the concert videos. Now that we are back in person, PGC has continued to follow county guidelines to keep the girls safe while being able to sing live. My daughter is so happy to be back in person with her teachers and friends. I would highly recommend PGC to anyone who has a daughter that loves to sing or has an interest in getting started.
My daughter has been part of the Peninsula Girls Choir for the past 4 years. It's a wonderfully run organization that does an amazing job of teaching girls the fundamentals of singing while showcasing the joys of being part of a choir. They foster teamwork, as well as, provide the girls a safe haven to be themselves and gain confidence. I am so grateful for PGC and its commitment to our community!
Peninsula Girls' Chorus is an amazing organization. My daughter has thrived as part of both Allegra and Brava. The teachers are fantastic, kind, and supportive. Her singing has developed along with her confidence and desire to perform. I am happy that she truly loves to sing and hopefully that will last a lifetime. Being part of PGC has increased her overall love for music and she is now beginning piano lessons as well. There are a number of performances the girls can participate in throughout the year in the community and they are so much fun and a great experience.
The Peninsula Girls Chorus is exceptionally well run. They create a warm and inviting environment for our girls and teach them to sing beautifully! Our daughter really enjoys it and comes home singing around the house. PGC gives her more confidence to put herself out into the world.
My daughter has been joining Peninsula Girls Chorus (PGC) for 2 years since she was 6. She absolutely loves her group rehearsals and looks forward to singing with other girls every week, whether in-person or online. Her musical directors are very patient, engaging, and dedicated to teaching. They make learning a lot of fun through creative group games and activities. PGC also helps my daughter understand musical notation and try out musical composition from a young age. The requirement of completing a musicianship workbook reinforces what she has learned from the group and helps develop a strong foundation in music theory. The annual concert gives the girls an opportunity to build their confidence in front of a live audience. I highly recommend any girl who loves to sing to join PGC!
My daughter has always loved to sing. We would catch her singing to herself all the time and she loved singing songs to us. It made it so happy. When she was about 5-6 we noticed her singing more and more off key, so we decided to look around for something to help her improve her singing and encourage her to continue to do an activity that gives her joy. That’s where we found Peninsula Girls Chorus. The director was so nice, when my daughter went to audition (sounds scary, but it really wasn’t), she was so warm and friendly, my usually shy daughter was comfortable enough to sing for her. This is now our 4th year at PGC. The chorus also teaches theory which helps her read and interpret music. I love how my daughter’s singing has improved so much! I love the beautiful music the girls make and the wonderful community. During the pandemic last year, the chorus was an important outlet for her during the stressful year of distance learning and isolation.
We love Peninsula Girls Chorus! Our daughter has been singing with PGC for 5 years. She's as happy going to rehearsal today as she was when she first joined.
The staff is wonderful, smart, and caring. The music these girls create is truly incredible. We also value that the chorus is made up of girls from so many different schools from all over the Bay Area. We're grateful to be a part of this wonderful community.
My daughter has been singing with PGC for 7 years. During this time, she has developed not only a more refined and powerful singing voice, but also confidence and stage presence. Supported by caring and talented instructors, she has grown in her ability to read music and translate it into performance. She has grown alongside her fellow choristers through the years, and always looks forward to her twice a year performances.
I cannot recommend this organization enough for any girls who show an interest in singing.
My daughter has been attending this choir for 3 yrs now and absolutely loves it. I notice how happy she is after her choir class when I go to pick her up. The teachers are amazing and the groups are well organized. The class is very engaging, kids learn music reading as well as sing songs in multiple languages.
This organization is amazing: They create a friendly, fun, and right mix of music, theory and practice and performance for the girls. It is a super positive group for girls to get together as a community and sing together. I love that they have everything organized down way in advance, thoughtful groupings of co-horts of ages and levels to enable progression, it seems a lot more friendly and low key than other singing organizations (they are here to help and support your child). PGC is a wonderful organization couldn't recommend them more highly.
Couldn’t be happier with the PGC. My daughter is learning to sing well and has enjoyed making new friends. I have really enjoyed watching her performances. The staff are friendly, and are committed to safety and training of the girls. Wonderful organization to be part of. If you want your daughter to develop great friendships and develop as a musician, this is the program for you.
