I recently took in a dog who was abandoned by his owners. His name is Brody. He waited outside of his home for two days without food or water waiting to be let in to no avail ,that is when I realized that his owners had abandoned him. He went from being loved by the owners kids and having a safe home to sleep in to sleeping outside and not knowing why he was suddenly forgotten about and where his best friends he once played with were. I took care of him for two weeks looking for a home for him and was not able to. The next best option was to take him to peewees which I had a rescue person do. Now she is basically holding him hostage and not allowing him to get adopted out because I had gotten on her bad side and said she was rude and vile. Which she is. Every person that I have sent her way to try to get the dog out of that shelter has been turned away ,so I posted on rescues United which is a dog rescue group about how disappointed I was that she was being rude to potential adopters for Brody. Nobody on that group wants to get on her bad side because she helps to rehome dogs the most which is what corpus needs. I do not care if I am on her bad side. For her to hold a dog hostage and not allow him a safe loving home is wrong and that is not a shelter that is hoping for the best for dogs. She is doing this all because she is angry at me for calling her out on being rude and horrible to everyone who comes her way. Shelters are supposed to WANT dogs to have homes and are supposed to have the dogs /animals best interests at heart. This woman does not. This woman has too much pride and in return is now not allowing Brody to get adopted. Every person that has called for him ,has gotten a “he has been adopted “ line and hung up on rudely. I just found out that he hasn’t been adopted at all and she is lying. This is not okay as someone who is supposed to want the best for dogs. He does not deserve to be withheld a home just because of an angry bitter woman.

I haven't adopted directly from Peewees, but I am the lucky recipient of a beautiful loving dog who was fortunate enough to pass through this facility on her way to a shelter in Michigan, where I found her. She was dehydrated, malnourished and sick when I brought her home, but that's beside the point. Having been in the shelter system for a couple of months she was scared and ill, but if not for the folks at Peewees who partnered with a rescue network to bring my Violet north to safety, she would have been euthanized. At Peewees she received all of her shots, much needed dental work and was spayed. At 8 years old she was probably not the first dog people would look at when adopting, but with a little time and a lot of love and attention, she has been restored to health and is the joy and light of my life. Thank you Peewees Pet Adoption World & Sanctuary Inc for doing the important work that you do. If not for you I wouldn't have my girl Violet.

I read the reviews below. As a dog lover I have to say to anyone writing a review saying the condition is that horrible why would you say don't get a pet there. If it's that horrible wouldn't you ask that people do get pets there and out of their care? That's what I would ask.

Pee Wee%27s Pet Adoption

DO NOT ADOPT FROM OR DONATE TO THIS DREADFUL PLACE. For years my husband has designated this place to receive matching payroll deducted donations at his work. THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WASTED. We chose them because they say that 98% of donations go directly to the animals. This is a lie. We talked to an accountant friend who knows the charity laws and looking at how they spend money (tons of employees office workers, newsletter, etc) they dont even come close to that much. What is worse is that after years of donating, we adopted a sweet, pitiful dog and took her home only to see that she had bloody stool and was listless. We took her to the vet listed on their paperwork. (It is ridiculous that they make such a big deal about requiring a vet reference when it is obvious they do not give the animals even the most basic care and hygeine while at their concentration camp shelter.) Their vet found hookworms, wipworms and tapeworms...tons of them. She also had coccidiosis. Our little dog was so anemic from the worms and fleas and ticks we were afraid we might lose her and our children were already so attached. Two days later, we took her to our own vet and found out she also has heart worms and a tick disease that could have killed her. We called the shelter so they would know what our pup had and they could treat and care for the dogs that she was with. The lady did not even care. She was the most rude person I have ever talked to. We have spent hundreds of dollars at the vet and countless hours of worry and the horrible owner of Peewees acted like we had done something wrong and told us to bring the dog back. We would not even leave a box of roaches in that womans care. Do yourself a favor and get a dog from ANY other shelter. ...and trust us, all of the great things they say about themselves on this website are all fabricated...lies. And the few good reviews on other sites are all written by employes most likely. Sad, sad place.
