I have known Dr. Davis for over 20 years and I don't know anyone that is a more caring and understanding then she is. She is a true humanitarian and is completely responsive to the needs of every person she meets. With her 50 + years of study and research there is not another persons opinion I would take over hers. Her knowledge of alternative healing methods and naturopathic medicine is staggering. I have been truly blessed to be a student, client, friend and colleague of hers for these many years.
Found the PVHC through a news paper article and thought it could not hurt to try it, as dual diagnosis son was on medication but still needed more. The diagnosis of ADHD and Aspergers make him socially awkward and the medication while able to help with the concentration does not help with the social issues or anxiety.
Since starting sound and light therapy at the center and also changing some dietary items under the instruction of Dr. Davis, our son has become much more centered and more willing to enter new social settings. This is a major milestone for us as he is now actively seeking out friends and while maybe not as gregarious as a normal 11 year old boy, he has come a long way for him. What makes this type of treatment and the associated progress so critical is that there is no outward appearance indicating the condition. People around us see this child acting strangely and think he is an over privileged under disciplined child, and that is far from the truth. The treatment has helped with all this and has far exceeded our expectations.
We have and will continue to recommend the center to everyone we know in the hopes that some of the “magic” we have experienced can be shared and thus make others lives easier.
I first came to know about Peace Valley Holistic Center from one of my yoga students, Donnamarie Davis. I'd known Donnamarie for just over a year when she started telling me about PVHC and the services they were providing. I was very interested in hearing and seeing more about PVHC since my nephew had been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome and my cousin's 13 year old son had been diagnosed with Autism when he was a toddler. Because of my family's close ties to the Autism Spectrum Disorders, I knew that PVHC was an organization I wanted learn more about and be involved with.
As a result of my connection with Donnamarie, I was asked to offer yoga classes at the Center and have been doing so since December 2010. The PVHC space has a positive energy and is the perfect location for yoga classes.
On a personal note, I was offered treatment by Dr. Christina Davis due to a fairly serious soft tissue lower back injury. Dr. Davis suggested I come to the Center for QiGong Massage. At the time of my evaluation, Dr. Davis asked me several questions about my health and based on my responses, she was able to immediately offer some suggestions for me to improve my overall health with nutrition and supplements.
Dr. Davis, further, provided me with a Color Light Therapy evaluation. I was very much intrigued and impressed with Dr. Davis’ assessment of my responses to the Lights. She was ‘right on’ with what I was feeling at that moment and she offered some wonderful ideas on how to expand on those feelings in order to obtain an overall sense of wellbeing.
At the end of our session, Dr. Davis, offered me the QiGong Massage. Since I’d never heard of this type of massage, I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was very satisfied with the results. Dr. Davis explained that the QiGong equipment would make a beeping sound whenever it encountered an especially ‘tight’ area in my body. As I was there for a lower back injury, the equipment was very interested in that area. After several minutes of Dr. Davis gently moving the QiGong paddle over my lower back and hips, it became quiet and the discomfort in my back had lessened.
My encounters on a professional and private level have been great experiences and I look forward to even more times at Peace Valley Holistic Center with the wonderful people of the Center.
This nonprofit organization is the best in its field for helping families with autism and special needs. Many moms, dads and caregivers have been helped and supported by this organization's specialties. And all this is the result of a special woman's dream to improve the quality of life for anyone who has lost hope and needs a helping hand. This woman is Dr. Christina Davis.
It has been not only a pleasure, but an eye-opening experience serving on the Board of the Peace Valley Holistic Center. Dr. Davis is one of the most selfless individuals I have ever had the honor to know and work with. Her focus, and that of the staff, is on the children and their families who face the challenges of autism every day. These families are given alternative, non-invasive therapies such as light and sound therapy, qi gong (needleless acupuncture), and diet / nutrition counseling along with legal advice not only to help them cope, but to offer palpable improvement and hope! The results speak for themselves.
Peace Valley Holistic Center has been a great lifetime experience to me. I had an anxiety disorder for many year which was out of control and now through hypnosis and prayers at the center, I now have this disorder under control and my blood pressure is also under control.
Thanks to the therapies I have received such as light therapy and sound therapy.
Peace Valley Holistic Center should definately be considered when a family is looking for support for autism. Their approach is holistic, and the results are highly impressive. Dr. Davis and her staff are committed to their cause. Volunteering for events at the center is a pleasure because the energy of everyone at the center uplifting, and contagious.
I met with Dr. Davis and her daughter at the Peace Valley Holistic Center to discuss volunteer possibilities. The experience of being at the center had a healing effect on me that penetrated deep into my being. Ultimately, their sincere compassion and knowledge of alternative therapies had a calming and grounding effect on me, I felt like I was returning to a part of myself that had been missing for a long time.
Dr. Davis and the staff of PVHC are some of the kindest people I have had the pleasure of working with. They are child/family focused and their true payment is when they give the people who come to the center a healing. Dr. Davis's only concern is for improvement of health and well being of the child and the caretakers in their lives. I recommend the center to any person who is effected by autism or cares for someone on the spectrum. Dr. Davis knows that the only way a child can reach their full potential is to be cared for by a person who is also well cared for.
Dr. Davis is the most altruistic person I have met. She has spent a lifetime researching, studying and perfecting her approach to wellness and health. Her compassion is endless and her insight is unparalleled.
I have seen first hand how miraculous she can be with autistic children.I am blessed to know her.
Dr. Davis is truly a gifted healer and approaches her work like a calling. We feel blessed that she offered us insight into her practice and consulted with us in our time of need.
PVHC is truly on the cutting edge of light therapy and its applications to special needs children.
Dr. Davis is a humanitarian and pioneer truly worthy of sincere recognition.
Founder/ President Dr. Christina Davis is an altruistic humanitarian who started a charitable nonprofit for special needs children and their families, with an emphasis on autism, instead of retiring when she turned 70.
Dr. Davis saw children/families in need of holistic services that were only available in England and overseas, and were very expensive. Now, she has single handedly made it possible for special needs families to receive modalities like color light therapy and sound therapy here in Bucks County PA, on a sliding fee scale basis.
Dr. Davis takes calls 24/7, turns no one away, and used her savings to help economically distressed families, because nothing is covered by insurance. Dr. Davis inspired many professional volunteers to give of their time to so outreach programs, holistic treatment at the Center, education, and a holistic approach to advocacy.
Dr. Davis has received 4 small grants for her programs, and was recognized by the Philadelphia Phillies’ Charities for her “initiative to make a positive impact on our local community.”
We wish a Philanthropist would make it possible for Dr. Davis to be able to hire a full time professional staff to help her, she has a waiting list of families in need, and families come to the Center for help, from as far away as NY. There is a list of behavioral therapists, analysts, practitioners, and teachers waiting to transition from volunteer to full time employee. Peace Valley Holistic Center has helped bring hope to special needs children and their families who had no hope.
