I emphatically agree with the previous review. This "non-profit" receives millions of dollars each year from the government and donors. Yet the money doesn't seem to be put to use the way either expects it to. Their hotline isn't so hot. IF they answer, you will likely receive a message "we have no room. Try again later." Then once you are able to get in they make all kinds of promises that you soon realize they had no intention of keeping. For example, they don't help you look for a job. They don't help you with transportation other than a ride to the interview. If you get a job they will take you the first week then they will let you use a bicycle. Then you will likely get kicked out at 40 days so that they can move other grant money attachments in, keep yours before you are able to get a place to live, and then start the cycle over. Some of the advocates have really bad attitudes and lie. But all of them lack training and/or skills. They lack empathy skills and cannot possibly identify with the trauma you have lived.
I was a resident here and I can tell you from first hand that everything on their website is a lie. The two housing programs they have listed were never mentioned or offered to any of us. In 42 days I met with my advocate one time. And when a mother and her children came in with covid they moved us to a hotel for two weeks without notifying department of health or the staff in that hotel, let alone the others staying here. One advocate even had the nerve to say, "I have a daughter". Their website is for show souly for donors. They don't even help with transportation to and from work or Dr appointments. And the confidentiality clause comes in real handy for them to hide behind when someone like me blows the whistle. Being they can't confirm or deny that I was even a resident there.
However in a positive note they will give u food and shelter. But those things detrimental to your independence and state of mind that a DV victim desperately needs, you will have to find somewhere else. It's not right and I won't stop until they are investigated, or the girls there start getting exactly what they offer on their website. It's sad when they need it so badly. Shame on them!
