Six years ago, PCOS Challenge helped me realize and appreciate the efforts of true advocacy. I have not only received support, but have also been able to provide it to others. Let me just say, there is nothing like that feeling of purpose! PCOS is challenging enough on it's own, but knowing PCOS Challenge and all of the exceptional volunteers and supporters are there, makes a huge difference! It is such a wonderful feeling to have found this organization!
I was first introduced to PCOS Challenge, Inc. three years ago, and was immediately blown away by the compassion shown to the PCOS community! This organization is truly committed to supporting women and girls with PCOS. I've learned more about PCOS through the resources offered by PCOS Challenge than from my own physicians! This year marked my third year as an active volunteer, and it feels good to be connected to such an organization. They have greatly impacted my life positively, and have motivated me to do the same for other women and girls!
It’s been a blessing to find and work with this non-profit organization that has a mission of spreading awareness of PCOS. I am delighted to be a part of this movement; and honored to have the pleasure of meeting with Congresswoman Virginia Foxx on behalf of PCOS Challenge, and NC women affected by this disorder.
PCOS Challenge: The National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association is nothing short of amazing! I’m incredibly thankful I found such an informative organization that includes/helps women with PCOS in anyway they can. I attended advocacy day in Washington, DC in March 2019, which was beyond a humbling experience. Not only advocating for PCOS but everyone that welcomed me with open arms. I look forward to continuing to be involved with this organization for as long as I can. The experiences with them have changed my life.
PCOS Challenge: The National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association has done it again! Joining colleagues, volunteers, advocates and families at Nasdaq's closing bell ceremony was a profound moment -- and a demonstration of years of hard work and dedicated service. Good work everyone!
Continuous improvement and growth have become hallmarks of PCOS Challenge's culture. This is why I remain a loyal volunteer and board member. As a Change Management and OD consultant, it's an honor to stand with organization leaders whose articulated commitment to women and girls' health is so well aligned with what they actually do.
Great organization with helpful volunteers and awareness activities and resources. Really have enjoyed my time being an advocate and getting information for myself as a patient.
PCOS Challenge: The National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association has given me a voice when I felt I had none. I have lived with PCOS for over 20 years. I was in a place where I lost hope and was struggling with lack of information on my own health condition when I found this phenomenal organization. Through their works, I've learned how to help manage my condition as well as, advocate not only for myself, but for others. I recommend PCOS Challenge to every person I come across who has questions about PCOS. It is a phenomenal resource to all. Their work is incredible and I look forward to being involved with them for many years ahead.
Amazing! They provide a wealth of knowledge to women with PCOS. Phenomenal advocates
PCOS Challenge is a great organization to get involved with and to support. PCOS Challenge provides a number of amazing opportunities for volunteers to make a difference. Most recently, I represented the organization as an advocate in a meeting with Pennsylvania Congressman Dwight Evans regarding more national awareness and legislation to help battle PCOS. I strongly encourage others to donate and volunteer.
PCOS Challenge is an incredible organization that is helping tens-of-thousands of women and families across the country. It is the archetype for the PCOS patient movement globally. I’ve volunteered with and supported PCOS Challenge as a donor for a number of years. I continue to be impressed by the organization’s impact and the vision and commitment of its leadership. I’m proud to be a PCOS Challenge supporter and to be a part of the historic achievements the organization is making with regard to PCOS awareness, education and advocacy. If you have a chance to attend a PCOS Challenge event, be sure to go. It’s a life-changing experience!
PCOS Challenge is an inspiration in the PCOS community and have been a support in ways that no other has been for those with PCOS. What they do for those suffering with PCOS is beyond what I've seen others do. They advocate for those with PCOS, share helpful information about PCOS (how to manage it, what it is, breaking down myths and more), but most of all I feel they help give us a voice. While we each have our unique story and can share PCOS Challenge allows our voices to be heard as a whole.
I will continue to support them and help raise funds and can't wait for the day there are events and walks throughout the US because that was one of the best experiences I've had. Participating in the symposium and walk allowed me to be surrounded by those who not only support the PCOS community, but to be surrounded by fellow PCOS Cysters.
From unhealthy to healthy. From patient to advocate. PCOS Challenge: The National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association has challenged me to become a better me and empower others in the process. Prior to my first symposium in 2014, I was not aware of how to fully treat my PCOS and be my own advocate in the doctor's office. Furthermore, I had no idea how broad this disorder was for so many girls and woman and their families, both present and future. With the tools, resources, motivation and encouragement from William, Sasha and the team of volunteers, I am more confident and healthy. PCOS Challenge is transforming the world's knowledge of PCOS and the power of healthcare providers and patients one day at a time.
PCOS Challenge, Inc. saved my life. In my 20s, I knew very little about the disorder, yet it had its way with me. Following my first PCOS Challenge Symposium, I was armed with the right tools to not only fight PCOS at home, but also in the doctor's office, where the battle continues to educate. Three symposiums later, I've volunteered with the organization and seen how it works at its core. The help is genuine just as much as it is effective. The only "challenge" is getting this organization funded so that it can help more women and girls suffering in silence.
PCOS Challenge is a wonderful organization that has done an outstanding job in advocating for people suffering from PCOS. The organization has created an amazing network of patient advocates who have harnessed their power to lobby Members of Congress and their staffs regarding the health challenges that they face.
This is the only PCOS organization that I trust to help patient by vetting resources, to lobby our legislature for research funding and recognition, organization of international grassroots efforts to bring together patients, doctors, health practitioners, researchers, and social influencers. It is entirely run by volunteers so every cent goes back into the community.
PCOS Challege, INC is lead by the most selfless leaders who dedicate their time as volunteers. I find that its very rare in a non-profit that the funds raised go directly to programing to help the intended audience, and that's what they do for women with PCOS. Sasha and William's unwavering dedication has brought much needed resources, symposiums, and resources together to help women with PCOS be their own health advocates, educate health care providers on how to treat women with PCOS, and bring together a community so that no one has to face PCOS alone. If I could give this organization 6 stars, I would.
I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2009 I had just moved to Atlanta and was really relieved at this point to just have a diagnosis after going so long with not knowing what was going on. Fast forward I was on facebook and saw this group PCOS Challenge here in the city and knew I needed to get involved and boy did it change my outlook and trajectory of my life as I started to get educated about all of the symptoms I was having and the best thing was I was no alone.... I started getting involved right way and Sasha Ottey the founder/executive director opened up her arms to welcome me into the Cyster sisterhood. Everything has been great from the 5k race to the symposium to the advocacy I was able to do on Capitol Hill. This is a non-profit that has their priorities in the right place and that starts with the clients/families affected by PCOS. It has been refreshing to be affiliated and volunteer with this organization that has done nothing but try to bring and awareness and support us as we try and get the word out about a disease that gets no air play. THANK YOU PCOS CHALLENGE for all you do to aid us in the fight.
The work that PCOS Challenge has done for women like myself who have been diagnosed with PCOS is unmatched! The PCOS Challenge team has encouraged, uplifted, and supported myself and my fellow Cysters to advocate and continue to spread awareness! This was my second year attending the PCOS Advocacy Day in Washington, DC and each time is life changing! Without this organization thousands if not millions of women and girls may be lost.
In September 2012, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). For years, I struggled with the physical and emotional ups and downs of living with PCOS until I found the PCOS Challenge: The National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association. They helped me find my voice and a community who have been a great support system.
I probably would have given up a long time ago if I didn't find the PCOS Challenge.
After being diagnosed with PCOS in 2015 I was 55 pounds heavier and lost: I'd never heard of the disorder, didn't know anyone with it, and didn't know what next steps to take. After searching the web I came across PCOS Challenge and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of support, information, and the number of women and girls who were affected by this disorder.
I soon came across the PCOS Diva Confidence Grant on their webpage and applied right away! This grant provided $500 toward acne treatment or hair removal for women who suffer from hirsutism and acne due to PCOS. I was ecstatic to receive the award. The support I received from Sasha and Will along with the treatments catapulted my self-confidence. I began to feel so secure in my skin I spoke about the PCOS Diva Confidence Grant and my experience at the 2016 PCOS Challenge Symposium! This organization is essential and I'm not sure where I would be in my journey without it.
I always have lots of fun volunteering at PCOS Challenge events! PCOS is an important and underserved cause that urgently needs more attention. I’m happy that I can make a difference by supporting the critical work of PCOS Challenge.
PCOS Challenge is doing a phenomenal job with PCOS awareness, education and advocacy. It is a joy to support the organization as a volunteer and donor.
I’m so happy that I had an opportunity to volunteer with PCOS Challenge! It's an incredible organization with an amazing staff. If you are looking to donate to or volunteer with a great nonprofit that will enable you to make a difference, look no further than PCOS Challenge.
PCOS Challenge is a wonderful nonprofit that provides accurate, up-to-date information and a platform for PCOS patients to share their stories, get support and to advocate for other women and girls affected by PCOS. I am grateful for the opportunity to volunteer with PCOS Challenge and to share my story as a source of hope and help to others.
A wonderful organization dedicated to advancing PCOS research.
PCOS Challenge is the premier nonprofit organization helping women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Everything they do is top notch - from their monthly magazine, to their annual symposium and fund run to their advocacy in Washington DC. When I count my blessings, I count PCOS Challenge for the work they do to give women with PCOS a voice.
PCOS Challenge has been a integral part of my learning how to manage my PCOS. After years of struggling with it, PCOS Challenge has provided me with resources, education and a community that have helped me greatly in my PCOS journey.
PCOS Challenge is awesome! Sasha and William do a fantastic job of advocating for PCOS! The PCOS Symposium literally changed my life! This year is the 2nd year I've attended the symposium. I've learned so much about how to manage this condition from the symposium and PCOS Challenge. Before I became aware of this organization, I was not managing my lifestyle to best control PCOS and its symptoms. Now, I know the best ways to eat, exercise, supplement and medicate myself. I've been able to find doctors and other resources through PCOS Challenge that have helped me tremendously in improving my health. Also, I know that every woman with PCOS needs to advocate for herself!
Amazing Organization I am so thankful for! They are doing amazing things for women and girls with PCOS!
PCOS Challenge is such an amazing organization making such a difference in the PCOS community. With PCOS being so greatly underfunded and misunderstood, it was so comforting finding such a vast resource of knowledge and and sense of community with fellow pcos sufferers.
PCOS Challenge is a great non-profit organization!!! The work that Sasha and William put in for this organization is outstanding. If it wasn't for this organization, I wouldn't have received the knowledge about PCOS! I am so thankful for them and everyone involved. Being able to attend the symposiums to meeting others that suffer with PCOS as well as professionals that specializes in helping women and the family members cope with PCOS, is life-changing! Thank You PCOS Challenge Inc. for all that you do!
PCOS Challenge, Inc. is a great nonprofit organization for information, support, and friendships. I recently volunteered and participated at the 2016 Symposium and Bolt for PCOS 5K which was truly special. PCOS Challenge hosted the event and did an outstanding job putting together a successful fundraising event. I highly recommend this organization.
I choose to continue to support PCOS Challenge, Inc. because it has been a life changing experience to witness how important this organization has been for thousands of women and girls with polycystic ovary syndrome as well as their supporters and healthcare providers. There is an immediate need for increased support for this cause, especially with PCOS being the most common hormone disorder and cause of infertility and leading to early diabetes and heart disease. I believe that more people and corporations should recognize the importance of supporting PCOS Challenge and their work that is improving the health and lives of so many women, girls and their families.
When I was diagnosed with PCOS and quickly learned how many women also have this condition, I knew I had to learn more. I attended the PCOS Symposium hosted by PCOS Challenge in Philadelphia to learn more about what was going on with my body. When I reached out to PCOS Challenge to volunteer at the Symposium, I was welcomed with open arms and was thrilled to learn about how PCOS Challenge tackles PCOS awareness from all angles. PCOS Challenges provides awareness of the emotional, physical and psychological effects this syndrome has on a women's body by providing the PCOS Challenge confidence grant, as well as educational resources for women and their loved ones. It's comforting to have an organization who not only educates women but also provides a forum for the millions of women who have PCOS to openly discuss the complexities of this syndrome.
Love what PCOS Challenge does for those with PCOS. Sasha should know that what she does is greatly appreciated.
Knowing that PCOS is greatly underfunded is why I will continue to help raise funds for PCOS Challenge and will continue to advocate for PCOS. Can't wait to volunteer again next year.
PCOS challenge is so awesome it's great to be with people who are fighting the same battle as you and be a big support group for one another.
As a PCOS patient, I appreciate what PCOS Challenge is doing for increased awareness. I was not diagnosed properly with PCOS until I was 29. That is too long to not know what is going on in your body. And once I was diagnosed, I still didn't have knowledgable doctors treating me effictevly, because they weren't taught about PCOS and nutrition importance in med school . Eight years later I have found PCOS Challenge who has given me a network and support group. Through their efforts I've linked up with people who I can talk with about treatment options and just feel like I'm not alone. This organization has changed my life.
I have volunteered with several non-profit organizations over the years. None of them compare to the commitment and professionalism of PCOS Challenge. This organization believes in their mission wholeheartedly and works tirelessly to ensure that awareness of PCOS is front and center. The vision of PCOS Challenge is one that has mobility and effective changes to ensure that women who suffer from PCOS do not do so alone. Their impact on PCOS research is unparalleled with any other organization. I am proud to know Sasha Ottey, Executive Director, and the entire board of PCOS Challenge, and I look forward to working with them for many years to come.
It's important to have people who understand you, advocating for you.
PCOS Challenge exists to provide comprehensive information, support, and advocacy for women and girls with polycystic ovary syndrome or PCOS. Because the organization is comprised of cysters, medical professionals and staff who live through and/ or understands the disparities and obstacles that need to be overcome in the womens health community. This syndrome for this syndrome can be heard and recognized as a serious health initiative. It is their passion that inspires change, hope and movement towards better health for all women and girls with PCOS. I want to be part of that change and part of and organization that is at the forefront of making that change happen.. Kudos to PCOS Challenge for blazing the trail and delivering much needed support, advocacy and education for the syndrome and patients it serves.
PCOS Challenge, Inc. asked us (Omega Phi Alpha-Nu Chapter) to partner with them to hold the first ever PCOS Awareness Symposium Weekend 2016 at Georgia Tech. It was such a pleasure to be able to work with them on this event. They are so passionate about what they do, and it was amazing to see how many lives they have changed. I look forward to being able to partner with them again to have the opportunity to make an even bigger difference. Thank you for all that you do!
