I know Pastor Jack for my whole life from my teen years. As a teenager, I never expected my friend Jack to become a Pastor, especially a missionary Pastor so far away, but I realized that when GOD calls you, it is a very special calling, and what could be more important than helping others, especially children and bringing Jesus to them!! Pastor Jack and his family are working for the Lord in one of the poorest places in the world and not many people would dedicate their whole lives for a Mission From GOD, so The Father knows who to ask!! I support his mission whenever I can afford it because every little bit helps those who are in need.

I have been with Pastor Jack since the beginning. God has been with Jack and this Mission through good times and bad. Giving has always been just in time to meet the needs. This is a Mission that is run by very caring, loving people, and is blessed by God.

Paystas mission is helping hundreds of people know who Jesus Christ is. This mission helps to feed people physically and spiritually. They also help educate the young people so they will be able to get jobs that will feed their families. This organization is a wonderful non profit.

I visited Payatas Mission Outreach many times during the year I spent in the Philippines. Pastor Jack Wilson and his wife Malou have given their entire lives to help the people in this impoverished area of Metro Manila. They have been instrumental in changing the lives of many children and families with food, medical assistance, education, school supplies and with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

They keep their living expenses as low as possible so they can put more of the little money they have into the lives of the people they are serving. I have seen their ministry in person and I am well acquainted with them and their ministry. They are worthy of our support.

I am Rev John J Wilson aka "Pastor Jack" This is an updated view since the one written last year. As you know we opened the Payatas Baptist Health care and made a big difference in the lives of the poor for a little less than a year however lack of funding caused us to shut down the operation.
We still minister to the people of Payatas. We especially try to minister to the children. We continue to bring them to camp. We brought 65 again this year. We have our one week Vacation Bible School for about 100 children. Our Christmas party went well feeding and sharing the word, giving gifts and having a wonderful time.
However the struggle continues and the funds allow us to do as much as we do and no more.
Type in Pastor Jack Payatas into Google or Yahoo and you can see the things that God has allowed us to do. Imagine if we had the tools to do more.
I just read someone was depressed because they no longer could take their family out to their ritual Saturday night out. Here they get depressed when they can not feed their family at any given time.
This place is worse than Africa and Haiti except that we don't have Oprah or Danny Glover or Franklin Graham coming here to champion the cause.
When Typhoon Ondoy struck last year, hundreds of thousands were on their own.
Our desire is to train the youth for their future. We do it on a small scale and it's measurable and working. With the funding we could turn Payatas around. That's up to the reader.

The story of Payatas Mission Outreach is a simple one. We help the poor and indigent people of Payatas one of the poorest places in the Philippines. I am not so sure anyone outside of the slums of Payatas could write a review for us. We recently opened Payatas Baptist Health Care, Inc. A not for profit health clinic that offers free medical examinations. The people are being diagnosed and healed or referred. People who probably would not have sought medical attention if they had to pay. Not because they are cheap but because they are poor. To get an idea of how we help people go to our photos at http://escobia225.multiply.com/ to see for yourself.

I have spent 27 years as a missionary (Christian Psychologist) in the Philippines where I served as Director of Manila Counseling Center and Safe Place, a ministry to street children. I was first contacted by Jack and Malou before they made the decision to begin a ministry in Manila. I am so glad they have chosen to devote their lives here! Few people have the heart and soul to minister in an area like Payatas. I have visited the church many times, speaking at their first anniversary celebration to a packed house. What a great day that was! I consider Jack and Malou close friends, like family. They work among the poorest of the poor in Manila within sight of one of the largest garbage dumps in the world. The personify the best model of the modern urban missionaries in a city of 14 million people. The call of God is strong in their lives. They display Christ-like compassion for all. As evidence of their care they opened a free medical clinic on a shoestring budget and Faith that is a beacon of hope to a hopeless community! They send children to summer camp, generously give clothing and food, often from their own table. Jack and Malou are the "real deal", and I can recommend their work as an eye witness with the greatest level of enthusiasm possible.

Pastor Jack and his wife, Malou, have a heart for reaching those that most in society would like to forget. They give of there time, money, energy and life so that the children and families that survive by scavenging at the mountain of garbage in Payatas might have a better life.

Not many people would volunteer to leave the comfort of the U.S.A. to live in a third world country. Even fewer would go and minister in an area that is probably one of the world's largest garbage dumps, toxic and polluted. Pastor Jack did just that, feeling the call of God to reach out to those poor souls that try to eke out a living in the dregs of the Payatas dump. Pastor Jack and his lovely family have a heart to serve the poorest of the poor, opening a free medical clinic, sending children to summer camp, giving clothing and food from their own limited resources. I know Pastor Jack will frequently sacrifice a comfort we take for granted if he can be a blessing to someone else.

Unlike other faith based organizations that I know in the Philippines, Payatas Mission Outreach is actively reaching out to the spiritual as well as to the physical and health needs of the poor. PBC/ Payatas Mission Outreach has been true to its commitment, producing visible results such as positive changes in personal lives and in the community. In particular, the medical clinic which is at the heart of Payatas is providing free medical/dental and vision examinations and treatments. Many of the poor people in Payatas have benefited from the medical clinic. The clinic is still in need for funding to be able to reach more people who couldn't afford medical care. With more funding, Payatas Mission Outreach can reach more needy people through an expanded medical program such as prenatal care, pediatric care, health education, immunization and preventive health care, feeding progra/ nutritious meals, education to street children, livelihood start up programs . Payatas Mission has a vision for the future, and has proven that nothing is impossible with God. I will continue to pray for Payatas Mission as it makes a difference in people's lives one person and one day at a time.

Jack & Malou have been very good friends of mine for about ten years. I was there when they got the call from God to go to Payatas, I asked him why do you think God would call you to this garbage dump, and he told me that God had really placed this location in his heart, and he could no longer ignore those poor kids growing up in the disease riden filth. He had to go and let them know they had a loving God. He also knew he had to do something about the sickness there, so he figured out how to get the medical clinic going. Many times he gives from his own pocket to help those who need medecal attention. He has plans to enlarge the clinic, but funds are short, but he is trusting God to meet the need. His wife Malou is working with the children teaching them school lessons, so that they can excell when they grow up. Jack and Malou give of themselves unselfishly, and sometimes goes without so others can.

If the Payatas Mission Outreach is chosen for this $5,000 prize, it would be such a blessing to many persons that the mission serves. This is the poorest place in this area of the Philippines and our Pastor Jack Wilson and his wife Mrs. Wilson, serve daily for over three years thus far, serving their Medical Needs, Food, Teaching of how Jesus Christ enriches our lives making us grow stronger and wiser in all aspects, becoming cultivated in skills to enrich our personal lives as well as the community we live in....They need many things to help give them a boost in the materials they need to build our church and build up our food supplies and medical needs. Thank you so for consideration of our great needs. These leaders here give sacrifically every day to put food on the table and books to learn with and supplies to heal us when sick or hurt, and other personal needs such as clothing and cleanliness supplies such as soaps and things to launder our few clothing. We could use a new stove too. Sincerely, Mrs. Florence Such PO Box 55233

I have supported this ministry financially (as much as my budget allows) and spiritually for a few years now. I believe they definitely have their priorities in order. First and foremost, their mission is to serve others. They have compassion, vision and hope for the future. The new health clinic is an example of that vision put in motion. All this dedication is done for the love of the people.

The Payatas Mission Outreach Inc. is a nonprofit organization who help people in Payatas for their medical needs. I experience a lot of depressing situations that this clinic helped a lot of people with no money to buy their medicines but we still give them the medicines. Most hospitals I knew, they don't accept patients without money. I experienced that when my little brother had an appendicitis and the nurse told us that they could not help my brother unless if we had money. My mother told me that I have to go home and borrowed money. TO make the story short, I got the money and my brother was alright. This clinic is a very good help in this community where people could not afford to pay their medical needs. We really need your help to have more medicines, more equipments, and the staff could get enough salary for their family.

I have a small group of friends called P7, whose mission is to provide Christmas Party to Street Kids in the Philippines, every year we look for a local church to help us organize this (as all of us work abroad). I called Pastor Jack and within 30 minutes I was in his office-- I was impressed with the work they have been doing in Payatas. So, I brought 12 street kids (picked randomly from the streets and from the dump site_last July 2009--asked Pastor Jack and his team to minister to these kids and their family. Payatas Mission Outreach nurtured the 12 kids spiritually and physically for 12 consecutive sundays prior to the Jollibee Christmas Party that we have sponsored (December 2009). To date, almost 1 year after we picked the kids from the dump site/street-- 2 out of the 12 kids have already been baptized. with the 10 kids consistently attending and bringing in more kids to Church. Physical pain and hunger can easily be alleviated, but the emotional and spiritual hunger of these kids cannot easily be aviated without the dedication and passion of Pastor Jack and his team-- in serving Christ through our neighbors. Please support Payatas Mission Outreach.

Payatas Mission was planned and orchestrated by Jack and Malou Wilson. Payatas is the central location for refuse dump for Manila. The people of Payatas scavenge through the garbage to survive. Payatas provides hope for the people of Payatas who like the garbage they sift through, thought they had been thrown away by society and not cared for. Payatas Mission has brought back hope to the people of Payatas by providing spiritual, emotional, and physical support. Medicines and foods are in constant need and Payatas Mission has limited resources. Payatas provides as much support as possible with limited resources. That is why my wife and I give what we can to help this mission help these people that basically, society has thrown in with their garbage. I ask anyone who may read this to reach into pocket and give if you can. The free medical clinic is a blessing to the people of Payatas since without money for healthcare in the Philippines. You will not get assistance or the assistance will be minimal. Frank & Rose McIlvenny

The Payatas Mission is the purest example of people extending themselves, at a significant level of personal sacrifice, to help others in need of the most basic aid and services, furnishing moral and spiritual support in addition to food, clothing, medical attention, education, rest and recreation, and more. The Payatas Mission is a shoestring organization, running on a minimal budget with maximum hope and objectives. It appears to qualify as a role model for similar efforts, its activities and structure a template applicable to other organizations and efforts to aid the severely disadvantaged of the world.

Since 1981, right after graduating in college, i was involved in non government organization: entailed me to do massive research, voluntary work in the far flung provinces not even electricity and clean water is available.Much to say doing fund raising for children's programs. I been a witnessed to these "non profit organization" but it is only here at Payatas MIssion Outreach , i have seen dedicated people willing to share their time, skills, love, resources and most especially the word of GOd. Barely, less than a year in this organization, i truly feel the amazing grace of our LOrd giving wisdom to touch people lives, who lives in most depressed area in the Philippines. With the leadership of Ptr. JAck Wilson, people here are fed not only physically but most of all spiritually. Various programs and projects are done for the benefits of the people here, and lately, the birth of Payatas Baptist Clinic, offering free consultation. But still there is no such thing as FREE LUNCH. The clinic is in dire needs of volunteer doctors, financial support to pay rental and other operational cost. MOre often than not, medicines are given free to patients who cant really afford to buy. Let us help build Payatas: support and show you care, and this will be given backto you a hundred folds.

Personally, this is the one and only charitable organization that I trust in the Philippines. I have donated and volunteered to several charitable organization in the Philippines and they all have their share of curruptions and failures. Most of these so called charitable organizations does not even exist today. But Payatas Mission Outreach is different. In fact, this is the only 'EXISTING" organization that is dedicated in helping the poor people of Payatas. You can personally prove it for yourselves. The founder, Rev. Jack Wilson will be happy to meet you in Payatas. I am also calling those who are willing to help. Payatas Mission Outreach Inc. can help more people with your help. Please support Payatas Mission Outreach Inc.

I met Pastor Jack last year when we were doing a story about garbage mountain in Payatas area. The condition of the people living in the area are really heart wrenching and witnessing the challenging works of Payatas Mission Outreach just to provide some sort of sanctuary to the people there is just amazing and at the same time inspiring. We filmed the story and it reached some viewers in CBS. In as much as my experience with this organization is fleeting, I hope to help them more by passing on the story whenever there is an opportunity so people may know how important it is to support groups like this.

Jack lived at our house during the time that he was preparing to leave for Payatas. It was wonderful to see everthing in the planning stages. Now to see what has been done for the clinic was a huge step in getting the major part of the plans done. Hopefully they are to add on and get more help to better service the people of Payatas. Jack was able to return to the US for a few days. During that return he was able to show us pictures and explain about the people that he is helping.
