PAXy brings culture and joy to the citizens of Miami in such refreshing, surprising, fun and beautiful ways. From music to dance, the free performance series in unorthodox places, like the government station trasport hub, sponsored by this organization are always a true gift to the public.
As my band arrived for Wake Up Miami we were greeted by the fun, friendly, and professional crew from Paxy. The music we played that morning was well appreciated by the passing public and all involved. This organization has helped the Miami community come together through the Arts.
They’re one of Miamis hidden Gems.
An arts organization that is doing wonderful things for downtown Miami. Bringing culture, music and dance to the people and for free. It’s something you would see in NYC but is happening here in Miami.
I wish I had an excuse to ride the train just to see their performances.
They are amazing, I have been in some of the presentations and I love to see the faces of the people enjoying the art in the streets. I think Wake up Miami is a very good idea to release the morning stress of the people going to work, they relax and take a little break to enjoy the show, then, they still walking with a smile in their faces and a joy in their hearts thanks to Paxy!
For me is wonderful to see this kind of people working to bring more fun and art to Miami.
Thank Paxy!!!!
Paxy its just a great concept. Nothing better than getting to work all hyped up after listening to some live music or seeing some good live choreographies. Its location its great as Government Center Station is a hub for many people. Its gives a great vibe to the area, people get out of there feeling happy. Their organizers are such nice people!
I wish there were more events like this throughout the year. Awesome experience.
Can't say enough about PAXy. 5 stars all day for this superb organization and their incredible staff! A wonderful non-profit that makes a real impact in the city of Miami. Wake up Miami! an event that has changed the way south Florida perceive live music in public spaces.
Too many Arts enthusiasts already in Miami, I thought at first. How much real substance could there actually exists under the "Non-Profit Arts Promoters Miami Scene"?..right?..Hmm, at least they have an unusual name, I said to myself back in 2015.
I gave it a try as volunteer at their first (almost shy) "Wake Up Miami" Life Concert Series at the Miami Government Center - Metromover Station that year. Volunteering I said? I felt more like the witness of the natural birth of a child from a Mom's womb, right there laying on the floor of the station, at the sight of Monday morning train commuters, disbelieving what they were also witnessing.
Musical notes were being poured as the blood that nurtured that birth,..The baby was screaming his first breath of life, in the eyes and all senses of standing, to hear the music of our local artists performing just for the sake of sharing their truth with strangers that had to stop, and live those instants of pure creative expression in the least expected place, for the very first time occurring in our city.
The child? He actually left the station in the form of sounds, and the shape of joy, in the mind of those who had the opportunity to be part of that event, and later arrived to their offices or workplace still singing the melodies, and with a smile on their faces.
I guess that was finally their founders' vision at least for that day. For sure it was reason enough for me to believe in what PAXy brought to the table: The inclusion of Art Contexts where Everyone in the community gets touched in the most unsuspected ways.
That was new for Miami back in 2015, ..and it STILL IS. Right there by the newsstand at 8:30am every monday this summer 2018, Government Center Metrorail/Metromover, bringing FREE live music and art performances that will get imprinted into your mind forever.
Volunteer.
