A friend of mine told me about this cat shelter recently and I was fortunate enough to visit during a weekend Cat Cafe. While enjoying some treats and coffee with many cat lovers and visitors, we spent a good morning visiting with the lovely adoptable cats. The shelter is clean, the volunteers are friendly, the cats look healthy and well cared for. With so many kitties needing forever homes, it was great to see another cat shelter in Tucson doing such a good job.
PAWSitively CATS houses over 300 adoptable and special needs cats, including cats with Feline Leukemia, Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, and conditions such as being blind or paraplegic. These cats live in a cage-free enviroment, cared for by volunteers and staff. PAWSitively CATS does a great job stretching every dollar to care for all of its animals, and is always in need of dedicated volunteers and sponsors for special needs cats. Harriet is a great example, as she was paralyzed by a dog bite shortly after giving birth to a litter of kittens, and still nursed them and was a great mother to them.
