I can't say enough wonderful things about Pawsitive Steps! They have changed lives with their knowledge and kindness. They are always ready to answer any of your questions. Great communication. They are truly an asset!
What an awesome organization this is. While I am not getting my service dog from Pawsitive Steps AZ because I need one trained in tasks that are outside the scope of what they do, it did not keep Mo Welch from spending time talking with me about the process and what to expect. They have continued to support my journey, even offering for me to come and meet with them. I love that this organization is about education and being supportive of service dogs supporting all needs.

A Dane is not only much more versatile than a cane, it has a great deal more personality. For someone disabled by mobility issues, a four-legged cane is a ticket back to an active and engaged quality of life. These Great Danes are bred and selected for their temperament and stability and trained specifically for the individual in need by highly skilled trainers. And Pawsitive Steps AZ Inc does it all on donations -- no paid staff, no cost to the recipient.
The word is getting around that Great Danes make great service dogs for people with mobility issues but not just any dog will do. Mo Welch, through her charity Pawsitive Steps Arizona, carefully breeds her Great Danes to provide her with a select number of pups that she herself trains for two full years to become service dogs for recipients that she matches for size, disability and personality. And she does not charge for these most welcome assistants, relying instead on charitable donations as well as her personal funds. Becoming a recipient of one of these intelligent, loyal, affectionate and amazingly well-trained Danes means that Mo has carefully matched one of her dogs to the recipient's needs, personality, limitations and expectations. She has a unique ability to both foresee potential service material in her pups as well as recognize which dog will work best with a deserving recipient whose life is bound to change for the better once they are matched. I choose to support Pawsitive Steps Arizona financially and take any opportunity to spread the work about this deserving charity.
This small, family-run nonprofit works huge wonders, opening up a world of independence for people with disabilities. They raise and train service dogs, tending to each dog and each client with personalized attention, knowledge and heart, matching up lifelong partnerships with canine assistants.
Pawsitive Steps Az. is a wonderful non profit who FULLY donate trained mobility service dogs for those in need. The cost of a trained service dog can be astronomical. It takes 2 years to fully train a well balanced service dog which is why the cost is so high. Many people who are in need of one do not have the ability to fund the initial cost of purchasing a trained service dog which can start at $25,000. By fully donating their service dogs, Pawsitive Steps Az. makes it possible for those with the need, who otherwise would not be able to afford that initial cost. They can then focus on saving funds to be able to feed, care and cover any vet costs for their service dog through the years.
Pawsitive Steps Az. plan every breeding for the best temperament and health of their dogs. They are all home raised in their home throughout their training, trained in a loving manner through positive reinforcement within a family environment, with exposure to everyday real life situations.
Pawsitive Steps Az. not only trains and fully donates their service dogs, they are there for you even after you have had your team training, and have gone home with your new partner throughout their lives.
Pawsitive Steps Az. is one of the most deserving Service dog organizations for any and all donations. 100% of All donations go directly toward the training, care, food, comfort, vetting and love of these amazing Service dogs in training.
When you donate to Pawsitive Steps Az. you can rest assured, your donations are going directly to give someone the gift of independence. What an amazing gift to give.
I am writing this as a current service dog owner, as well as a donor.
