Pawsitive Alliance supports pets in the state of Washington through fairs giving food and supplies out in low income areas. Their important sponsorship of spay neuter for cats in low income pet owners is also helping stop the pet overpopulation. They attend many events to spread the awareness of animal care.
Personally I have worked with a clinic in the Yakima area, seeing hundreds of community cats spayed and responsible ownership enhanced. Additionally they assist dogs sitting in shelters to find home through their Why Not Me program. This group of hard working volunteers is making a difference in the state of Washington, thank you Positive Alliance.

Hi, a cat rescue volunteer in the Yakima area active with TNRing community cats and rescuing their kittens. TNR, or trap, neuter, return, is trapping community cats, taking them to a clinic where they are spay/neutered/vaccinated/rabies, and sometimes more medical care. After recovering they are returned to their homes by their caregivers and me. At the same time kittens at that location are rescued and fostered, where they are socialized. They are then transferred to partner Seattle agencies where they are vetted and adopted.
This is a well documented and humane proven method for cat population control.
In 2023 because of Pawsitive Alliance sponsorship of 2 tnr clinics a month here I was able to tnr over 200 community cats with a like number of kittens rescued.
In addition Pawsitive Alliance helps with baby kitten food for the foster kittens and provides food for low income neighborhood managed groups of cats who would otherwise often go hungry. Their help has enabled a great number of cats and kittens in this valley veterinary care and healthy lives. The caregivers are very grateful.
Pawsitive Alliance actively promotes and publishes information so the public can use these methods to care for their own neighborhood cats.
Pawsitive Alliance has been a positive beacon of hope and "how to" in the care of animals, Thank you for your invaluable help!!
Regards,, from Yakima

I first learned about Pawsitive Alliance when looking for a 2nd dog to join our family. We discovered Boomer at Barktober Fest in 2008 and then Pickles at Lucky Dog in 2010. After attending these events, I realized how special Pawsitive Alliance's mission is. While there have been some impactful changes over the years, Pawsitive Alliance is still leading the way in Washington State with respect to animal welfare non-profits. I don't know of any other non-profit that focuses on dogs and cats in the way that Pawsitive Alliance does. From getting animals adopted to helping their families retain them, Pawsitive Alliance is there to support communities in Washington state and their shelter and rescues partners. Pawsitive Alliance is also focused on preventing pregnancies in both "owned" and stray cats and dogs by helping support low cost spay and neuter clinics.

Not only did I start supporting Pawsitive Alliance financially, I also began volunteering at adoption events which lead to helping out for the annual gala. Eventually I joined the board for a 3 year term and even spent 2 years as board president. I am very proud of what we accomplished especially as the last year was during the 1st year of covid. And I am very thankful that one of the founders, Yolanda Morris, is back at the helm and leading Pawsitive Alliance into the future by developing the relationship with the Seattle Mariners and expanding the pet supply donation program to assist more and more individuals and rescues in need.

I am including a photo of our Pickles who was adopted from Grant County Animal Outreach back in 2010. Pickles introduced our family to what I call the Chihuahua revolution. the photo is of Pickles at Ronald McDonald House where we visited as a therapy dog team. There was so much spirit and love in her tiny little 5 lb body. I am so thankful to Pawsitive Alliance for the opportunity to have Pickles and Boomer join our families.

If I could I would rate Pawsitive Alliance 100 stars. I am currently on the advisory council and am looking forward to my upcoming retirement when I can become more involved once again. Please make sure to check out this amazing organization at pawsitivealliance.org.

I have been involved with Pawsitive Alliance since 2009 when I adopted our pup Boomer at one of their large adoption events. I adopted a 2nd dog the following year at another event. I was really impressed with their mission and decided to start donating both time and money. When interviewing a potential candidate for the Executive Director position, I asked the candidate why he wanted to work for Pawsitive Alliance and he said because Pawsitive Alliance is unique and it is hard to find organizations that are doing what he called alternate animal welfare. This gentleman was so impressed he wanted to move from across the country for a pretty low paying but high level job. This reiterated what I already knew from my own experiences. I am super proud of have far the organization has come since 2009. Especially how its pet retention program has grown and is now helping les fortunate residents in our communities by providing free pet supplies to them at our partners free and low cost veterinary clinics. If you have not had a chance, please check out pawsitivealliance.org. Learn about the #WhyNotMePets program, how Pawsitive Alliance is helping communities by working with partners to provide low cost spay/neuter services. And lastly if you have new or gently used pet supplies, find a location near your home and please drop off at one of our donation bins.

Pawsative Alliance helped us avoid a near cat-astrophe. When my daughter and I moved into our house in Ellensburg we saw cats in the yard but assumed they belonged to our neighbors. Although I’m allergic to cats, we enjoyed watching them frolic from our big living room window. My neighbor welcomed us to the neighborhood one day by bringing a giant bag of cat food. I was surprised, but found out the cats were community cats that the previous home owner had helped feed. I found out several of my neighbors knew about the cats and cared about them as well. I had never heard of community cats before, but started feeding them once in a while because we didn’t want the poor kitties to starve. Soon a new litter showed up at our door. Long story short- in about a year we realized there were too many to care for. I am disabled with multiple sclerosis and on a small fixed budget. Not only was the cat food getting pricey but one morning we counted 12 cats begging at our door. I knew two of them were pregnant. I started calling local Humane Societies for help only to be told they were completely full for rehoming and the TNR slots were full as well. Now panic was setting in. I didn’t want to be labeled “a cat lady” with 50+ cats one day. Someone suggested I contact Pawsative Alliance for advice. Hurray!! Jenny Fraley was kind, understanding, and clearly wanted the best for those sweet kitties. Amazingly, she was able to work with the Yakima Humane Society to arrange an Extra spay and neuter clinic that wasn’t previously on their schedule. There were now 12 spots available for the TNR program and Pawsative Alliance would pay the bill! She suggested calling Animal Control to borrow some traps. We did and were surprised they would do this. Soon the traps were set as instructed and 8 cats were caught. An amazing volunteer drove all cats an hour away to the Yakima Humane Society. Luckily, four of the youngest were selected for rehoming at the Ellensburg Humane Society when previously we were told they had no space and four were returned to us spayed, neutered, and free to enjoy the rest of their lives without fear of getting pregnant or danger of so many territorial cat fights. Pawsative Alliance also provided us with a great quantity and diversity of cat food and kitty treats, saving us a ton in expensive cat food and providing the cats with a fun variety of treats. The remaining male cats have proven to be a little harder to catch, but we hope to help them out in the future as well. We still have community cats and will still keep an eye on them and help feed them, but at least now we know the populations won’t become unmanageable again thanks to the amazing care and work of Pawsative Alliance!! They went above and beyond to help us and were incredibly insightful, helpful, and understanding of our situation. We don’t foresee anymore cat catastrophes due to their great assistance, and we are incredibly grateful.

Pawsitive Alliance makes a remarkable impact in animal welfare in Washington State. Their leadership team consists of strategic thinkers who prioritize partnerships and collaboration to drive essential initiatives. Their programs—including spay/neuter efforts, large-scale adoption events, and safety net services that keep families together—demonstrate their dedication to meeting the diverse needs of the community.

By providing access to vital resources, Pawsitive Alliance plays a crucial role in enhancing the lives of pets and their owners across the state. They have been an incredible partner to Team Okanogan Animal Rescue, embodying an abundance mindset that empowers other nonprofits to achieve their missions and goals. We are grateful for all they do to drive change in animal welfare.

As a volunteer for Pawsitive Alliance, I’m increasingly impressed with the huge impact of this small organization. Specifically, its work to provide much-needed services in areas where resources are most minimal – or completely lacking – provides hope and care to animals and their people who have nowhere else to turn for assistance. Donors can be sure that their dollars go directly to help truly needy animals and not to large salaries or overhead. Pawsitive Alliance is truly a special organization.

I’m proud to be a Pawsitive Alliance volunteer and donor. Pawsitive Alliance has never lost sight of its goal to provide care and resources to animals in the most underserved areas of the state as well as tackle the root causes of pet overpopulation and homelessness. Without hesitation, it steps up. Whether providing spay/neuter vouchers, ID tags, food and supplies to individuals, or assisting with large colonies of feral cats, the animals can count on Pawsitive Alliance. I don’t know of an organization – local or national – where donor dollars are better utilized.

I am a new volunteer with Pawsitive Alliance from Mt Si High School. My first volunteer experience with Pawsitive Alliance was at a Bark at the Park event (Mariners baseball game) where the organization hosts several animal rescue organizations promoting animals available for adoption. I also volunteered at a supply event in Seattle that provides donated pet items (food, leashes, etc) to help with pet retention and provide free ID tags. The organization provides crucial services helping animals in need so that they can stay in their homes or find loving stable homes.

Pawsitive Alliance is wonderful! I met Jenny Fraley (Executive Director) when she came to our huge - but tremendously underserved county - to volunteer at a 3 day spay and neuter event! Not only was she there the entire time, but she also went out of her way to deliver supplies to a rescue in need and transported 2 stray dogs back to the west side of the state to be adopted once the clinic was done. She went out of her way to "walk the talk" with "boots on the ground" to make a difference - and she did! I highly recommend Pawsitive Alliance as a reputable and honorable organization. Pawsitive Alliance is an action oriented organization that directly helps animals and helps their guardians to help their animals. PA's food and supply give away is coordinated with the Doney clinic which treats animals belonging to low income/no income folks so it gets to the people who need it. They make dog tags which helps guardians find their lost pet before they might wind up in a shelter. Their Adoptathons are brilliant; bringing in animals from shelters in outlying areas to the city.

The first time I volunteered with Pawsitive Alliance was such a wonderful experience. We collected leashes, harnesses, beds, etc for dogs and cats and gave them out to low income and homeless individuals. They came with their pets and we could pet/play with them. Everyone was so professional, passionate, hardworking, and caring. I was happy to help the people with what they wanted for their pets. You could tell they love them, and wanted the best for them. It was fun and very fulfilling to talk with them and provide a leash or kibbles, or bed for them. Many of them would not have been able to get these themselves as they are expensive in retail.

Pawsitive Alliance is a non-profit organization that cares about getting animals adopted, help people retain their pets, and assist with giving great items to those in need, all for their pets!

They put in more hours in to each event than can be counted, and I hope they earn the top spot!

Pawsitive Alliance is a small organization, making a huge impact across Washington State. I continue to be amazed at the amount of good they are doing, maximizing their resources, contributions and volunteer network.

Pawsitive Alliance has helped initiate, conduct and provided funding for spay/neuter programs in rural central Washington counties, including Adams, Grant and Yakima, as well as Snohomish County in western Washington. Collaborated with organizations in Pierce County to offer training programs for bully breed dogs and their owners. Held multi-shelter adoption events providing opportunities for overcrowded shelters to get their animals adopted. Coordinated transfers between shelters in less populated regions of the State to the Puget Sound area. Conducted outreach events for homeless and lower income pet caretakers around the greater Seattle area, providing food, toys, ID tags, beds, cat litter, and other essential items.

Pawsitive Alliance is helping cats and dogs thrive, from increasing adoption of shelter animals, with a focus on long-term homeless pets, to preventing pet homelessness through increasing spay and neuter, as well as pet retention efforts.
The free pet supply events are focused on helping unhoused and financially strapped folks take care of their pets, meeting people where they are to reduce access barriers, and not putting limits on the quantity of supplies they can take.
The pet ID program is addressing the #1 reason pets are in shelters: they lack identification, and few are found by their distraught families.
The Spay and Neuter Increase Program (SNIP) is working upstream to tackle the large amounts of unaltered pets and their unplanned litters flooding shelters and rescues.

Pawsitive Alliance is a volunteer-powered nonprofit working across Washington, helping thousands of cats and dogs in need of safe and loving homes, one animal at a time.
