Mission: It is the mission of the Patton Veterans Project and it’s initative, the I WAS THERE Film Workshops to help veterans and military families cope with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other service-related stress through collaborative filmmaking workshops designed to reduce PTS symptoms, promote engagement with family and community, and help facilitate successful transition back into civilian life.
Target demographics: service members, veterans, and military families
Direct beneficiaries per year: over 800 veterans since 2012 to create over 400 short films.
Geographic areas served: Military bases and private installations across the United States
Programs: Multi-day therapeutic filmmaking workshops designed to help service members, veterans, and military families cope with PTSD and other service related stresses
