Programs: 1) PATIENTS RISING CONCIERGE HELPLINE :
The Concierge Helpline helps resolve healthcare issues for people nationwide. There are many obstacles to affordable access to health care, such as food and housing insecurity, transportation, patients’ rights, and much more. The Concierge Helpline customizes solutions for clients based on their unique needs. The navigators connect clients with existing services and programs to move them towards a solution. The service is free and there is no qualification criteria. >> 2) PATIENTS RISING LEARNING: Patients Rising has diverse learning opportunities available. Multimedia modules are built around topics of interest identified by their audience. A legislative advocacy masterclass is offered several times a year, which welcomes patients, caregivers, and advocates at any level of experience, and teaches them the fundamentals of legislative advocacy. In 2023, a new suite of courses focused on Self-Advocacy is planned, which will tap into experts to offer topics including instruction on communication strategies with providers, and financial health in chronic illness and more. Also in 2023, a speaker’s bureau is in development to train stakeholders in the art of presentation. >>> 3) PATIENTS RISING STORIES: This is a platform designed for aggregate advocacy through storytelling. Anyone wishing to share their story may do so with any length of text they desire, plus photos and links to their social media, blogs, and patient support organization. The location of storytellers is graphically visualized on a map of the United States. The platform is capable of showing trends in diseases and issues-experienced by stakeholders cross-referenced by location. This aggregate data can be used in legislative advocacy initiatives. All entries are identified by a URL that can be used by the storytellers.
