Mission: A texas-based non-profit social services organization dedicated to creating environments where children and families thrive through provision of a wide array of social services from foster care to adoption to mental health services.
Programs: Pathways' foster care program recruits, trains and supports families who desire to open their home to children and youth who deserve a safe place to live. The foster care program encourages the achievement of every child's full potential by providing a stable and nurturing alternative family environment. The foster care program also includes the implementation of specific treatment plans for foster children and their families while working towards the best permanent outcome for everyone involved. Pathways' foster care program hosts children ages 0-17 who have been in the care of the texas department of family and protective services. Typically, these are youngsters who are experiencing a variety of social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties because of abuse and/or neglect. Pathways served 898 children through the foster care program in fiscal year 2016.
pathways' 3h youth ranch program uses the power of nature as a tool to build new purpose, character strength and personal integrity in young men. A balance of wilderness adventure programming & activites coupled with classroom and vocational education create a positive environment for boys to grow emotionally, intellectually and physically. The philosophy of the treatment program is based on basic living and socialization skills, building self-esteem and behaviors patterned after aims and ideals of scouting. The camp is chartered as a boy scout troop and each campsite is an established boy scout patrol with the boys working toward merit badges. The number of children served was 72 in fiscal year 2016.
pathways' adoption program is built around the premise that all children need great parents to create stable, safe and nurturing environments in which children thrive. This program focuses on finding permanent homes for children. Our adoption staff is committed to ensuring the success of all the children and families we have the privilege to work with and we are committed to excellence before, during and after the adoption process. Our adoptive families will always have pathways as an advocate and supporting partner. It is our goal to provide each home and child the best opportunity for a successful adoption experience. Pathways adoptive families provide for their children's safety at all times; create an environment where children can thrive; encourage and develop each child's unique interests and curiosity; and help the children discover their own unique gifts & talents. Pathways also believes that children can succeed in homes of varying religious affiliations, racial make-ups and socio-economic backgrounds. We work with families that share a common interest in healing the past and building strong futures in every child we encounter.
