The staff who I have the pleasure to work with are very professional within the workforce. We work with each to fulfill a common goals and that is to take care of the consumers' needs and wants. As a staff we administered their medication and at times the consumers will help the staff with the inhouse activities. The problem with working at Passavant Memorial Homes are the site supervisors who do not seem to respect their staff. I used to work at Passavant Memorial Homes with great staff members but the site supervisor was very direct and took what I said out of context. There was a lot of miscommunication and the supervisor had said some derogatory plus discriminatory comments about my race. The supervisor was verbally harassing me in a negative way and said that I am retarded, uneducated black man. So I submitted my letter of resignation and decided to leave immediately without working the final two weeks. Yes, I can not re-apply but with the working environment being so hostile due to the supervisors antics or negative comments; I felt as though it was a wrap for me working for this company and I have decided that it is best to move forward to work at a better company. Thank you Passavant for giving me the extra hours and the learning experience to carry me to the next employer. I appreciate it a lot.

The leadership that is in place provides excellent support to the direct care staff and what is most important is that everyone has the individuals needs as a priority. Passavant will stop at nothing to make sure the individuals entrusted in their care are able to live as fulfilling and enjoyable a life as possible.

This organization although a non-profit gives little priority to the public and the residents served but place more priority in growing larger, increasing their profit and maintaining a reputation that has slipped over the years. The residents suffer the most while the upper administration lines their pockets with donations and both state and federal funding. The cause is greed while the end solution is those in need of care are not receiving it. The employees are under paid for the type of work they do and they seldom are appreciated by management ever. There are better agencies and organizations that will do a better job of caring for your loved ones and you will also be able to trust them too. This organization from what I understand is being investigated by state and federal agencies.
